That is definitely a part of the baggage that most of the electorate, not just conservatives and evangelicals, associate with being Hillary Clinton.
Yes it has nothing to do with decades of shady politics.

Though I don't see much difference between Trump and Clinton aside from the words they use to pander to their respective constituencies, I sincerely hope for those whose primary concerns are different than my own, that you are right.
That's a very interesting thing to write. I mean it would be equally valid to say that there isn't any difference between Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders aside from the words they use to pander to their respective constituencies.
Simple, it's a win-win for the people doing the asking.
If she doesn't release the transcripts then she is evasive, aloof and doesn't care about the electorate.
If she does then she's weak and gives her opponents all kinds of material to go through with a fine-toothed comb to look for any contractions and/or unpopular messages.
ExactlyThe fishing expedition into Benghazi didn't pan out, the fishing expedition into her email didn't pan out, so they're trying to start a new fishing expedition. Like a fly bouncing off a window: maybe this time, bonk, maybe this time, bonk, maybe this time, bonk, etc until 2024 or so.
People haven't realized it yet, but we've passed through, into the Mirror Universe already, and there's no going back.![]()
If you value such polls, Sanders has consistently held this type of advantage.
Moving the goalposts?Trakar said:A bit selective in your poll preferences are you not?
after Sanders' image reached its high mark in late January/early February, it has fallen steadily. His current net favorable is his lowest since late December, a time when Sanders was comparatively less known to many Democrats. Clinton has now taken back her title as the most popular presidential candidate with Democrats, and with her predicted victory in the South Carolina primary Saturday, she appears to be back on a winning trajectory.
Moving the goalposts?
But these polls comparing two different candidates to another are silly. Half the people saying they would vote for Bernie over Trump are probably republicans who are rooting for a different Republican candidate - and if Trump wins the nomination they will either hold their noses and vote for him or stay home.
The only poll that matters is which candidate democrats prefer.
Clinton Regains Popularity Advantage Over Sanders
Pandering implies insincere solicitation for votes (aka lying about your real goals and objectives to secure the votes/support of those who believe differently than you). I don't see Sanders doing this to any appreciable extent. As to Cruz, I believe that he is actually much more authentic than Trump, Hillary, or even Rubio. I disagree with Cruz, and would vigorously oppose nearly every policy stand he has taken, but I believe he believes in those policies and positions.
Right, Sanders is pure of heart while Hillary is some wicked lying witch.![]()
Yeah, and you are a Bernie "supporter."
This surprises you? Why? You do realize that it's possible to agree with the positions of one candidate and not demonize the other or want to join in the witch hunt.
The Bern Bro delegation who have joined you in the HDS crusade, frankly, are an embarrassment... to other progressives and in a few weeks, to themselves.
Hold on, I thought you were claiming to be a Bernie supporter. Now you say this means you are a fanatical Clinton supporter? Wow, so your years long crusade has been a false flag operation? I guess this explains a lot, actually.Lolz! You know how to spot a fanatical Hillary supporter around here? They say "I'm a Bernie supporter, but..."
Bernie bro = Obama boy + 8 years - the overt racism.

Hyperbolic bifurcation noted. Nothing pure about Sanders that know of, but his record is remarkably consistent and stable while being generally in tune with my own values over the last half century or so, unlike Hillary's history, even just over the last 14 months.
