Obama prepares order on guns

How does this wall of text relate to the question?

Who has proposed that the reason to reduce gun numbers is because they are restricted?

Actually chuck. Don,t bother. You are not even making the slightest effort.

I say...quote....less guns would not lead to less violent crime. You immediately report this as being less guns would not lead to less gun violence.

I think you are simply trolling.
No, I'm just trying to get you to make a declarative statement, and you're still trying to parse words.
Are you saying that a reduction in firearms would lead to a reduction in gun violence?

Scoop up all the legal guns, and we would have a 400 years supply of guns left. So that tactic is useless.

Get the illegal guns away from street thugs, and the problem becomes miniscule.

Where do illegal guns possesed by street thugs come from. Do firearms manufacturers produce legal and illegal guns? They all start legal and many shootings happen with legally owned guns. I also understand there are a lot of them, thats why reduction is needed.

And how do you plan to reduce the number of guns in illegal hands?
Can I guess here? Reduce the number of lawfully owned guns and the magic happens, right?

ETA: And I notice you still haven't provided that causal link between lawful ownership and gun violence. Tick tock.

An acquaintance of mine called me a few minutes ago to tell me that Obama signed an EO limiting Americans to 3 guns each. I told him it was likely a prank but he sent me the link to www.abcnews.com. http://abcnews.com.co/obama-signs-executive-order-limiting-us-gun-owners-to-three-guns/

I didn't buy it so I went to the ABC website and it turns out that they're actually www.abcnews.go.com He got suckered, but not before he posted on facebook about it.

Disinformation posted about Gun control? Say it isn't so :)

Chuck, sorry to report that after numerous replies you simply refuse to read them and keep chanting the same question so I can only conclude you are just another troll.

welcome to Ignore.

Finally. the mission statement!

Apparently that is his only contribution to this thread, unless you want to include evasions, nit picking over words like "ban", "confiscation", and what constitutes a "dealer".
A bald assertion couched in euphemistic terms with no evidence that it would have any particular favorable result.
He admits that reducing the number of lawfully owned guns would have no effect on violent crime, ignoring that gun violence is a subset of violent crime, yet maintains that reducing the number of guns would somehow lead to "less bullet holes".
I think you can stick a fork in TF. He's done.

Here's a crazy idea!
Why don't we take a look at which demographic group is most likely to fall victim to gun violence.
Next look at the demographic group most likely to commit gun violence.
Then study any common socio-economic factors that may cause the two groups to interact in a violent manner.
Weird, huh?

I can't believe anyone trusts an administration that could come up with an idea as stupid ( and illegal) as Fast and Furious to actually do something smart (and legal) about gun violence in America.

Nearly all from straw purchases. Once the gun leaves the store, we can't track it, not even to the parking lot.

Colorado for example bans registering guns. If the original purchaser is not responsible for the gun or reporting on it ("I lost it") there is no way to track guns.

For the ghetto kid it is just a younger sibling that has no prison record that buys the gun.

Gimme a break. Google it yourself. I've had this discussion over and over on assorted forums.

I like how quickly you went from an unsupported claim of "nearly all" to an unsupported claim of "nearly half" to an unsupported claim of "well, twenty seven, anyway".

Since when did "nearly half" become "nearly all"?

Not surprising when you use the Brady Center as your source. He also neglected to mention that the "nearly half" figure was from the number of BATF investigations, not from actual number of straw purchases. Or that the BATF is apparently incapable of prosecuting more than a few of these cases despite the evidence which would, by definition, be present, and getting convictions on even fewer than that (a whopping 812 of which actually received any prison time). That last figure is not the number of straw purchasers investigated or prosecuted, it is the sum total of all the investigations conducted by the BATF during their last report period, in which over 130,000 reports of firearms violations involving illegal sales of any type.
If the Justice Department (through the BATF) were a baseball player, they'd never make it to a AAA league roster, let alone the major leagues.
Your tax dollars at work.

Not my data. Informative memes are there to encourage you to google. 1 crook times 27, 50 000 crooks times 27 is more.

But as you have noted, there is no way to record all. Maybe we need to send in 60 minutes to sample parking lot sales?
