Hillary Clinton is Done

Of course, Lewinsky had no desire whatsoever to be an accuser of any sort. The Whitewater prosecutor long ago had given up on finding any illegal activity and pressured Lewinsky until she broke. Even so, the only thing Lewinsky accused Clinton of was being an unavailable boyfriend.

Revisionist history for a $1000, please Alex!

OK, my bad. He didn't serve her with divorce papers, he just took in a bunch of conditions after she got out of surgery and demanded she sign them.

No he didn't.

You didn't actually read my link, did you.

Isn't that the only important thing? I didn't particularly like Australian Prime Ministers Paul Keating and Bob Hawke (a serial womaniser as well) but they were without doubt fantastic leaders and the country is better for them. Why do you require a certain level of morality?

Yeah, we Americans are a bit odd on that one. We like everyone in public life to be a moral example for the children, someone we can all look up to. Why we can't just focus on letting them do their job, I'm not sure.

Shaq's best quote ever was when he was asked about being a role model for the kids:

"I'm not a role model... Just because I dunk a basketball doesn't mean I should raise your kids."

Shaq's Charles Barley's best quote ever was when he was asked about being a role model for the kids:

"I'm not a role model... Just because I dunk a basketball doesn't mean I should raise your kids."

Not sure that was even close to his best, but...

Thanks for the correction. I started the post and then went to find the exact wording without correcting the attribution.

And I agree that both have better lines, so I should have said "on this topic".

ETA: Am I required to point out that you misspelled Barkley? :duck:

Sounds like he is rather free and easy with releasing what is at least confidential information.... or he could be making it up.

Or he could be looking at it with an informed opinion of a prosecutor?

Being in Washington, he may actually know some FBI folks. ;)

That was my understanding, and yet I felt like such a jerk for doing it.

Why? I did it as a joke! Barley, is for beer as in drunk, was his nickname at many bars!

Vernon Maxwell told me to call him that, back when I worked at the Summit. Before it became a "church"!

You are a jerk for doing it. But those were your options: be a jerk, or lose Internet points.

The Internet is a harsh mistress.

No kidding. Rock, hard place.

Oh, much better! I like a good drinking story.

Does that mean I'm more of an idiot than a jerk? I think I'd be good with that.

ETA: talk about OT, how did they ever get the pot smell out of the Summit?

I love Berkeley (the guy who actually said that), but I've always thought that he was full of **** on that one. I'm a 3rd grade teacher. Nowhere in my contract does it say I'll be a "role-model". Same with cops, firefighters, presidents, soldiers, and star athletes. But that doesn't change the fact that certain jobs turn you a de facto role model.

"Say it ain't so, Joe."

...Good thing for Lewinsky she kept it, else she would just be part of the forgotten rabble of accusers. ...
Monica most likely wishes she didn't keep the dress and she wasn't the accuser. She, unfortunately for her, told Linda Tripp who made the affair public.

Lewinsky was interviewed a year ago for Vanity Fair and said the publicity and social media ruined her life, not the affair. She said she was the first person ruined by public shaming on social media.
She tried public appearances. She tried being reclusive. She tried leaving the country, and she tried finding a job. But the epic humiliation of 1998, when her affair with Bill Clinton became an all-consuming story, has followed Monica Lewinsky every day. After 10 years of self-imposed reticence, and now hoping to help victims of Internet shaming, she critiques the culture that put a 24-year-old through the wringer and calls out the feminists who joined the chorus.

From Wiki, Lewinsky did not accuse Bill, she always said it was her choice, but the affair was uncovered and she had no choice.
Lewinsky's name surfaced during the discovery phase of Jones' case, when Jones' lawyers sought to show a pattern of behavior by Clinton that involved sexual relationships with other government employees.[18]

Nobody came out of that looking good, but ultimately who is to blame, the most powerful man in the world, or some 20-something intern?

I was born in 75, so I missed Tricky Dick, and Iran/Contra meant nothing to me, so Clinton was my first big disappointment with a politician. I remember vividly when he looked in the camera and said, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman".

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman... Miss Lewinsky."

I don't want to play no true feminist but compare that utter nonsense from Skeptic Ginger to Slick Willy's sneering lie about Monica Lewinsky...

Vote for Hillary!
