You responded with two giganto-posts that included allcaps, bolding, and multiple quotes. You justified your previous remarks, accuse those who disagree of everything from reading incomprehension to bigotry, and posted gratitude to your supporters. Do you honestly not see any of that as symptomatic of a problem? Even if you're right about whatever trivial thing you were arguing about originally you have inflated and expanded it into an argument about yourself. I only remarked upon it because I've noticed this occurring in other threads as well. If you're happy with this, then fine. But it seemed from your tone that these battles you constantly fall into were upsetting you. I wanted to remind you that it's just the internet and it's okay to let things go.
I don't argue with people unless I read their posts. If you don't bother to read my posts then don't bother to *********** respond to me. And don't sit there arguing with me about something I never said.
It's simple. Before you argue with someone READ WHAT THEY SAID.
One of the reasons my posts have been giganto in the past is that I have repeatedly tried to explain myself and the person is so STUCK in their own sense of stupidity at the moment it takes a huge amount of effort to get them to understand that they misunderstood my position in the first place. It's like trying to turn a mack trucks worth of blathering ignorance around in an alley way. It's an exhausting waste of time and clogs up the thread.
That's why I give up. From now on, I'm going to just point out that the person obviously didn't READ what I said.
As since others seem to have no problem understanding what I mean, then it's clear it's not me. Unfortunately the majority of people don't read. So I've gotten used to it.
BTW
I am not calling anyone in this thread stupid, I'm speaking in general online. <<<Please read that three times. TYIA
Here's an example of what you did. I'll put it in spoilers because it's slightly OT To clarify again, in these two examples we have misundertandings. I am not calling you or lunchog stupid.<<<<<Please read that 2 times. TYIA
In BLM thread I stated I thought it was a ****** thing to cause a traffic jam on Christmas day because it was unfair to bring innocent kids into the protests.
I never claimed to care, did I? You're the one posting 'think of the children!' hypotheticals, then when challenged on actuals you deflect to others. I submit that your deep concern 'for the children' is purely theoretical, and is actually just an excuse to come up with scenarios to justify your hostility towards the BLM movement.
Look at the comment above by luchog. Same thing. I think anyone can understand the simple point that I was making about it being Christmas Day, mostly because I said they should have done it a different day.
But to you, I have "HOSTILITY TOWARDS THE BLM movement" Then when I pointed out that I have donated to them, support them and spread the word through my business social media page. You accused me of lying.
I guess in your mind, criticizing them is equal to hostility. Like Bush said, "you're either with us or against us." No middle ground acceptable.
So because I made a reasonable criticism, I am ANTI BLM.
I just don't understand the logic in this kind of thinking. Since I rarely am 100% on a "Side" I generally will have "academic discussions online." It's more of a game to me than anything else.
It's amazing to watch how most people are confused by what I say because they can only comprehend being on ONE SIDE 100%
I think he meant to say that him it doesn't matter. I just pointed out that the wider design was not based on, as someone else suggested, "manufacturers acting like women can't use their hands properly"....but instead a practical design to make it easier to hold while shaving your body parts in the shower.
To me I made a reasonable conclusion and the other conclusion was melodramatic nonsense.
Luchog stated that "bending over, covered with soap and running water in the shower" was "exactly like shaving his face."
I said "really, you bend over to shave your face in the shower?"
And then I was told that I said "men don't shave their legs."
It's nonsensical game playing. I didn't say that. I said, shaving your face is different from shaving your legs and that some customers prefer the wider handle.
How this turns into a battle cry accusation of sexism in the industry makes absolutely NO SENSE to me at all.
The only conclusion I can make is that he responded based on his own idea that I was saying it was sexism, so that's why he didn't understand my points. Because he never actually read them in the first place.
Here is deadrose's original comment to which I originally responded.
Personally, the thing that's always annoyed me about womens' razors, more than the color or raised price, is the idea that we're all too inept to shave with an ordinary handle on a razor, but need super-special extra-wide easy-grip handles. My hands still work, thank you. But that could set me off on another tangent about price differences if you buy the same item from a toy department or as an assistive or therapeutic device. So I'll shut up now

You replied this

And you have proven my point with your edited addition. You couldn't let go. You answered reasonably (enough) at first. Then you went back to other threads, searching for yet another example of someone arguing with you. Then you posted quotes and resumed your attack, and then cited that as a point in favor of your suggestion that you're not letting things get to you! Not only do you constantly create drama, you then try to turn it into sympathy for yourself as a put-upon misunderstood victim of the very drama you cause! You're either incredibly oblivious or a masterful troll.
I won't play your games. I'm putting you on ignore, so your subsequent attempts to incite argument from me will be fruitless. You will of course post at enormous length to try to rally sympathy and supporters, but I suspect that support will be less than you hope now that people have seen you at work in multiple threads.
Again Tragic Monkey YOU are the one who started it with me. Why didn't YOU "just let it go."
I explained my position and backed it up with evidence. And since you couldn't argue the evidence. (Because it showed it exactly what I stated it did) you've now shifted into a personal attack.
You could have read the post too and "let it go" or just ignored it. But you didn't. Did you?
There is no "argument" to be had here. You're wrong and that's that. So any attempts to keep going on about it are you creating drama. Not me.
I really don't get why people do this. Not the whole putting people on ignore thing, I get that, I just don't get the need people seem to have to announce it to the world. I've put people on ignore, but when I do so, I never feel the need to explain it to anyone, and certainly no interest in making sure the person I'm ignoring knows I'm ignoring them.

It's also against the MA, so is calling me a troll.
Don't worry I'm used to it. People announce that they are putting me on ignore when I basically prove them wrong. Psychologically they can't handle it.
That's why the drama comes up. I won't back down if someone says I said something I DID NOT SAY.
In the past I used to do what I did above and have it go on for pages because I could say it six ways to Sunday and they'd still insist I said what THEY said I said.
So from now on I'm just pointing out. "Read what I said, I didn't say that."
I also REALLY do not understand the point of engaging with someone and then getting upset when they engage back.
LOL I think it upsets people that intimidation and mocking and insults and name calling, don't bother me in the slightest.
You know, for someone who is constantly accusing others of bad reading comprehension, you are acting as the poster child for it right here. Get your own house in order before complaining about others. Not even going to bother trying to address the rest, since others have already done so quite well.
Of course you won't. Again, it's plain and simple to read. What exactly are you going to pretend to say here? That I misconstrued your quoted statement? You got it wrong. Because you either confused me with someone else (which I think you may have because at one point you actually AGREED with me) or you didn't read. Period the end.
Here is your post where you agreed with me. But again, I'm probably magically changing the posts. Right? LOL
I order men to smile all the time. I realized it has something to do with the fact that I'm hearing impaired. I'm so clued in on facial expressions that if someone isn't smiling I think they are upset with me.
I've had many early morning cab drivers tell me that "they are just tired, not mad!" And many of the men at my office tell me the same thing. "I'm not mad just focused, tired....."
I always tell men SMILE!!!! (I will say this though, I've noticed most older men are very reluctant to wear hearing aids. It's all about vanity and aging. They get them and they leave it at home. So maybe men saying it to women is considered more degrading than an older woman saying it to a man?)
I really liked Jennifer Lawrences letter about pay inequity. She admitted she accepted less. She didn't feel comfortable negotiating. I noticed I used to do that myself. I would be willing to take less money if they cut me slack on issues with my kids. (Time of arrival would be worth several thousand dollars less for the amount of stress it would save me.)
But it could also be that people are so used to women accepting less that they expect them to. And men fight harder because they are generally expected to take care of family.
