I wasn't tired.

Maybe not. Of course you don't have to be tired to have cognitive difficulties. I was wide awake when I saw a red, three-foot tall fisher cat bouncing through a soybean field in Nebraska. Of course, there aren't any red, three-foot tall fisher cats anywhere. So there's that.

I wasn't alone when I saw the cougar, the home owner and a couple of others were sitting outside with me at the time.

I wasn't alone either; my wife saw the same thing as I, and we still don't really know what it was, other than it wasn't a three-foot tall, red fisher cat.

Cool story. Figured out the search function yet?

I'm Tech NO, plus I fell last night after tripping on a cord and destroyed my laptop. I bought a new one today and it doesn't have your typical icons or tool bar. I'm doing good to be typing. I can't even find my subscribed threads on here without going under messenger and picking it from the side bar. It used to be at the top of the screen.

I don't know what you saw, all I can do is speak about the cougar I, and others, saw last summer down in Edisto. There was no mistaking what it was, it was right below us in the yard.

I don't know why you waited until just now to mention multiple witnesses, but it doesn't matter.

The people (civilian and non-civilian) of the East have had many years to show that the cougar is not extinct there and they have not done this. All we have are anecdotes going on for many decades. Where cougars actually live you will have readily available biological evidence and it usually comes in the form of whole bodies - dead and alive. The Eastern Cougar, ever since its widespread extirpation, is essentially a Bigfoot story. All tales with nothing to confirm.

You should read our entire thread on the Eastern Cougar. This discussion should actually be taking place in that thread because of its specificity of topic.

My wife and I would say there was no mistaking that red, three-foot fisher cat, either. Except that it was a mistake.

Why can't footers, and paranormalists, and Elvis enthusiasts just admit that they're mistaken? I just don't understand it.

it wasn't a three-foot tall, red fisher cat.
Any reason why you could not have been seeing a red fox along with some optical errors? Coyotes can certainly be, or appear to be red.

Those should be common in Nebraska farmland.

Seeing a cougar or panther down here isn't that unusual. I know they aren't supposed to be here but I didn't think it was all that noteworthy. I hear these kinds of stories here all the time and have seen pics so ....meh. Maybe we could get a mod to split and move it, I can't find the thread.

Look, I saw a cougar 15 feet below me running after a deer across the yard during the day time, that was no mistake. I'm not going to sit up here and lie just to make everyone's world view appear more secure. If I had known it was going to have this kind of effect on everyone, I wouldn't have mentioned it.

Because there is no already-established hobby/pastime of Tall Red Fisher belief. If there were, you might not say that you were mistaken and instead attend Tall Red Fisher conferences and expeditions and glue yourselves to the TV to watch "Finding Tall Red Fisher".

I was thinking red wolf but I don't know what's common in Nebraska.

None of this happened.

Think there's a market?
