• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.
Do you guys remember what I said you do when someone comes in here with a claim you don't accept ? You just did it again, you called me a liar. And you do this time and time again. I doubt most of you have ever stepped a foot in a South Carolina swamp, wetlands, or mountains. I'll give you Myrtle Beach, some of you may have vacationed there once upon a time. Go spend some time in Edisto, it's beautiful, it won't be a wasted trip, maybe you'll get to see a cougar run down a deer.

Seeing a cougar or panther down here isn't that unusual. I know they aren't supposed to be here but I didn't think it was all that noteworthy. I hear these kinds of stories here all the time and have seen pics so ....meh.
That's just like Bigfoot. All talk, no walk. The only meaningful difference is that Cougar is spelled with six letters and Bigfoot is spelled with seven.

Well Parcher, that makes you look ridiculous because cougars actually exist.

I didn't say that you are a liar. I said that I think you are lying. It's an opinion. You may or may not get used to it.

We were above the animal looking down from the screened in porch.

Cool, more details from the story. I've never seen this type of trolling before. Are there any more details, or do they only arise when you reply to objections?

Eastern Cougars are extinct.

To be fair, that's still one up on Footie...:)

As for cougars, considering not long ago there was a whole hoo-hah about a lion in some US suburb, the idea of anyone claiming "there is no way I was mistaken" just makes me .

I wasn't mistaken in this, if I was, I would say so.

You were mistaken when you incorrectly told me I didn't welcome Footers with an open mind, you subsequently failed to even name said Footers, save for the usual 3, who I don't offer an open mind to because they lie like every other day of the week, mate. You never admitted to being mistaken. But I digress. Carry on...

Probably because time and time again you intentionally state things which are knowingly false.

But sure whatever Jodie. In your past life as Cleopatra you saw a Chupacabra. Got it. We have to accept that at face value despite all facts to the contrary or else we're being mean. Victim card therefore Woo.

When a traffic cop investigates an accident with six witnesses, he sometimes gets six different descriptions of the accident, all claiming to not be mistaken, all reflecting the bias of that witness. This is just minutes after witnessing the accident.

Jodie, if I think you are lying, why shouldn't I say so?

Just for discussion, of course.

I don't let people get away with lies when they are standing next to me.

Does the internet change that?

If we were waiting at a bus stop, and you told me the Edisto story, I would tell you I don't believe you.

What would you then do? How would you react?

Would you claim that I'm not allowed to call you a liar?

When the DNR states they don't exist, well they don't until a body is produced. The thing about cougars are that they are transient and can cover a large amount of area. That doesn't mean there is a breeding population in the state. I did see the cougar run down a deer in the back yard of a house in Edisto and cougars are present in SC. Think what you like about me but you're wrong.

First off I doubt I would speak to you if we were at a bus stop. If you spoke to me I would probably ignore you. No, you aren't allowed to call me a liar because you don't know that I am lying.

This is no different than when ABP claimed to shoot three bears that were attacking him. I called foul on that and was immediately challenged to prove it. Until any of you spend any time in South Carolina then you have no right to apply a different standard for me than you do for ABP.

The thing about plausible deniability is that it has to be plausible. A lie is a lie, is a lie.

Are cougars like bigfoot now? Only seen by dubious witnesses, with no tracks, no poop, and no bodies?

In my experience, people who are describing an actual experienced event don't talk like this. This behavior is approaching diagnostic for fabrication. The blue litmus paper turned red.

In the scenario, I don't actually call you a liar.

I just say that I don't believe you.

Read the post again.

BTW, I vacation at Cherry Grove Beach almost every year...
