That's not an argument.

Seems a bit of a stupid "We are this tough on crime man!" willy waving
What is the point of that sentence?
What will they do with his body between his death and finishing his sentence?

What is the point of that sentence?
More importantly, what do they do with the body when the sentence is over?
Give it a bus-ticket for the nearest city?
It depends on the jurisdiction but an autopsy man be required; they're mandatory in some places when a person dies in custody. What will they do with his body between his death and finishing his sentence?
It's an election year.Seems a bit of a stupid "We are this tough on crime man!" willy waving

Life without parole for the murder charges. He was also convicted of 140 counts of attempted murder and possessing explosives. He got the max years for each of those additional charges. They totaled up the years.
When there is a conviction for multiple charges, the court has to set a sentence for each charge (even if it goes well beyond life) because there is always the possibility that one or more of the charges could be overturned on appeal. If that happens, they have to know how to recalculate the sentence (which, in some cases, could then end up being less than life).
I don't have a problem with this, except for the fact that the death penalty isn't available. And here we see the injustice inherent in the system. When child rape gets ten times the sentence that murder does.
I guess my question really is, does this mean the family(or anyone else) can't claim the body for burial elsewhere until the sentence is complete (create a memorial, public urinal, ect)?
Still i would advise burying him under a fake name.
Better if they just scatter his remains.
Just accidently leave the dude with onea pistol in his cell for 20 minutes with one bullet.
The cost savings would run into the millions.
And don't forget to bill the family for the bullet.Make sure he's in solitary first, otherwise the ******* would probably shoot another inmate.
When a person like this dies they get buried on the prison grounds unless a family member claims the body. There have been instances like when John Wayne Gacy was executed where people didn't want his body buried in their cemetaries. The graves of people like this attract vandals and too much negative attention which often includes stealing the marker as in the case of Ed Gein. A man named Albert Fish was so hated that the prison cemetary has no marker for him so that prisoners won't vandalize his grave.James Holmes gets a really, really, really long sentence.....
Sounds like the "plus" is after life......................![]()
To your scattered bodies go.
