Continuation Part 17: Amanda Knox/Raffaele Sollecito

That's just geographic illiteracy :)

But anyway, enough of such side topics - back to the debate about the Knox/Sollecito case......

Please list outstanding issues which can be discussed while waiting for the motivations report?

I dunno, I'm as bad as anyone. So it would be appreciated for a list. Please, not the lamp. Not the impossibility of the climb into and through Filomena's window.

It's hard to develop a list.....

No I don't think it is [libel]. It's just rather unpleasant and misogynistic (ironically).

Not sure about how UK law works, but under American law that creature is posting pure libel, and since that creature's postings can be read in America, the action could be filed here since Amanda is being negatively impacted by that creature's postings here.

Since Amanda is a limited public figure, in order to be libel, the posting also needs to be both untrue and also written with malice (i.e., w/ ill will as evidenced by a reckless disregard for the truth), which is clearly the case here.

That would depend on your definition of "MET"?

Amanda & Meredith did both go downstairs to the boys' apartment once while Guede was there, and perhaps one of the boys generally introduced both gals at that time, but there wasn't any evidence that I've seen which stated Amanda was actually introduced to Guede, or that she had ever talked to Guede at that time, or at any other time.

Once walking home from the bars Amanda & Meredith bumped into the boys and walked home with them, and Guede was with the boys, but Amanda & Meredith walked together and never interacted with Guede.

Amanda may have also seen Guede around town, but no one ever saw them speak to each other, and since they didn't share a common language, speaking together would be difficult even if they did want to talk.

Personally, I don't view Amanda's few encounters with Guede as ever having "met him" in the usual sense. To actually "meet" someone usually implies an introduction, perhaps a handshake, and after sharing a few pleasantries, usually a more meaningful exchange between them.

Since Italian trials are generally conducted in the media, I would say that DNA expert Peter Gill's appearance on Italian TV shortly before the March 27th exoneration, in which Gill explains to Italy how contamination affected the Amanda Knox case making Stefanoni's DNA results worthless, was very influential:

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2...contamination-affected-the-amanda-knox-c_news

I generally agree, but as between most individuals, there were notable differences between Amanda & Meredith.

Amanda was a younger quirky outgoing west-coast American gal, and Meredith was a socially more reserved Brit, which is probably why Meredith prefered hanging with her English friends who shared the same cultural background.

Meredith was probably into drinking alcohol more than Amanda was. Indeed, before coming to Italy Meredith was busted in England on a Drunk & Disorderly charge, which in America would be a misdemeanor. Amanda's only brush with the law was taking responsibility for a loud party, a mere infraction (i.e., not a crime).

Both Amanda & Meredith seemed to be good students.

Sexually, Amanda may have had more recent experiences, such as bonking the guy on the train. And while Amanda did bring a few guys around to the cottage, it seems that it was more for social reasons than for sex.

Meredith was bonking one of the boys downstairs (Giacomo), which probably wasn't a good decision on her part. Most women would avoid such a sexual relationship so close to home.

Meredith also wasn't very happy how her relationship with Giacomo was going since she complained about him to her English friends. Apparently, Meredith felt Giacomo was a player and just using her for sex.

In the days before the murder, with Giacomo out of town, Meredith was out with her English friends drinking and carousing.

In the week before the murder Amanda had met Raffaele and they both seemed to have mutual affection for each other, so Amanda's love-life appeared to be much better than Meredith's love-life at the time of the murder.

Indeed, Amanda was spending most of her time at Raffaele's apartment, so she wasn't around much to bug Meredith even if her personality at times did grate on Meredith.

Both gals often text-messaged each other signing with X0s (kisses & hugs), so while they came from different backgrounds, they got along well enough.

Meredith clearly wasn't a saint (but an above average young woman), and Amanda clearly wasn't a She-Devil killer, and likewise Amanda was an above average young woman.

Mignini's sexual fantasies about these two young foreign women was utter nonsense that only a demented "Guilter' could believe.

Mez was not "busted on a drunk and disorderly charge". Citation, please.

Binge drinking is a strong part of North European culture (=getting "hammered" with friends at the weekend). In Latin Europe, it's a moderate culture of wine with meals from childhood, which equally can lead to alcoholism in those so predisposed.

So Mez got hammered at weekends after hard studying. She had a boyfriend her own age, a fellow student.

This is NOT the same thing as maxing out on cannabis and cocaine, and picking up strange middle-aged men off a train.

Incidentally, Mez did not get hammered that night with her friends, as per their witness statements; there was no booze, or mushrooms in the pizza, so we have to ask, who poured the alcohol down Mez' throat that night, when all she wanted to do was study and get an early night? What was Raff's cep doing lodged in her gullet?

I bet she did - particularly when the cops were screaming at her "Patrick killed her! You were there! We know this is all true! Tell us the truth: that you met Patrick and took him to the cottage where he raped and killed poor Meredith! You need to remember this!"

Will you be there on 7th Sept as witness to your claim?

I am facinated, if only for a minute, at how you take the actual facts of the case, they rattle around in your head, then a completely different set of facts comes out.

You have no facts backing up what you just said, none, nada, zilch. "The fool (AK) thinks she invented sex and that she's a celebrity." Really? And this is based on which statement of hers? What action of hers?

How do you expect to discuss an issue when you don't even know the basic facts, but are instead comfortable making them up as you go along?

Did you not read WTBH? Amanda went on a project to experiment with sex.

Well, I never. Randy young adults invent sex for the first time.

What the hell are you getting at here? Are you denying Knox the right to write about this area of her personal life? Are you saying that basically nobody has the right to write/talk about their own sexual liberation or experimentation? Are you suggesting that anyone who does write/talk about such things is necessarily deviant or arrogant (or whatever unpleasant attribution you appear to be ascribing)?

But the useful thing is that you appear to be providing a reasonable psychological underpinning for your bitter and vindictive attitude to Knox. And I suspect that quite a few of those who are so rabidly obsessed with vilifying Knox in particular have erected a similar construct in their own minds: Kercher = virginal, diligent, "go-getting", ambitious, sweet, clean, caring; Knox = slutty, sloppy, lazy, unambitious, unsavoury, dirty, uncaring. Since this binary, contradictory construct is demonstrably false, the real question ought to be this: why do some people apparently find it necessary in their own minds to create this false construct, and then to use it to bolster/reinforce/validate their views on this case? I suspect that this is one of many areas that a clinical psychiatrist would be very interested in examining. (Seriously).

There is no question about that.

But this is a subject that interests me a great deal. Why do some people engage in trying to make women feel ashamed of being interested in sex? Amanda's number of secular partners was not outrageous and who hasn't had a one night stand? So why make a big deal about it in this case?

Frankly, I'm not very interested in arguing the case any more, but the social phenomenon interests me greatly. Why do people come to this forum now that the case is over? What drew them to the case in the first place? Bruce is not wrong about this being a little bizarre

I fully admit that if Amanda hadn't been the pretty girl next door my interest probably would not have been as strong. I also know that the world wide slut shaming drew me in as I think that there is this unhealthy double standard toward male/female interests in sex. Why? And shouldn't that be a relic of the past?

I'm really not interested in Amanda except to hope she has a fulfilling and happy life. I'm afraid that she won't be able to put this behind her. I might suggest that she doesn't try since it might be impossible. That like it or not, this will follow her forever. She is a modern day Hester Prynne. And possibly like Hester, turning her back on it may not be the answer.

OMG That is so shallow.

Whoa!
My name is bein' mentioned in ah, proper British speak!
Vixen, I luv me some sex,
You too, sweetie?

I do indeed have my copy of Amanda Knox's book "Waiting to Be Heard" nearby,
sandwiched between my "Shark Attack's of the 20th Century" and other assorted shark research books
and my John D. MacDonald collection.
You???

But ah,
allow me to help clue you in once again, dear Vixen, ok?

Really, girl,
you need to look at the whole picture.
It seems like Foxy Knoxy wasn't the 1 of the 4 cuties livin' upstairs
that was experimenting with sex.

IIRC,
Mez was the 1 herself experimentin' with **** sex
with her new boyfriend of only a week or was that 2?
Didn't PM Mig'i even ask Miss Knox if she knew that Mez was into ****?

But really,
who cares?

I don't,
unless Rudy Guede's, Amanda's, or Raffaele's DNA
was found inside of Miss Kercher's mouth or genitalia.
Was it?
Whose?

With that said,
it's still summer!

One correction to this post of mine. I said "something like 75% of the people in Italian jails are immigrants", because I knew it was a high number, but did not have time to look up the exact number. It's actually closer to 40%, if we are to believe this story:

http://www1.adnkronos.com/AKI/English/CultureAndMedia/?id=1.0.2114309116

The point remains -- there is this meme that people who support Amanda and Raffaele are all US racists who want to pin the murder on a black person. The truth is, there are racists all over the world, and to present Italy, and especially the Perusian authorities, as bastions of racial fairness is a farce.

So if you were to exclude all those who are in jail as illegal immigrants (=boat people from Africa) and people traders (=ditto), hardly any are black at all so bang goes your theory, "Blacks are more inclined to crime".

As Mr Tesla says, he's an advocate of Amanda because he fancies her. There will be those who prefer to believe, "the black guy should take the rap".

I guess when you have no facts to support your bizarre theories, you resort to making things up out of whole cloth. I never said the highlighted portion above, and everyone here but you knows it.

I have not vilified anybody. Amanda's strategy of claiming the conservative Italian cops were out to get her because of her chosen seedy lifestyle, is yet another ruse to mask her guilt. It's Amanda's own strategy of deception that's disgusting.

Who cares a darn who shagged whom, except Amanda wants to rub our nose in it. Rose West was similarly profligate. Would you claim her incarceration is because stuffy old cops weren't quite ready for her pervy shenanigans that led to mass murder?

When Brits invented the word, "randy", they named it after you, Luvvie.

I do believe there were long blond hairs found in Mez' hand, her downstairs and across her bag.

As we came into land at Heathrow, it was cold, grey and raining :(

Hey!
Where's my X + O's?

I do believe there were long blond hairs found in Mez' hand,
her downstairs and across her bag.

So odd that Dr. Stefanoni could not find out whom these hair strands belonged to, right? What, she didn't wanna crank up the machine to find out who they belonged too? Too bad, for if they were from Foxy Knoxy or Raffaele, I'd be a guilter just like you!

No way that those long blonde-ish hair strands
were left overs from Meredith's passionate cuddles
with Giacomo,
picture.php

right?

I wonder if Amanda or Raffaele's DNA
was ever found under Meredith's long fingernails?

Err,
didn't the scientific police officer correct Dr. Stefanoni on video camera
and tell her Meredith had medium long fingernail's?

So was any DNA from the "Piccioncini",
as Laura M. called them,
found there, Vixen?

By the way Vixen,
what ever happened to those blonde hair strands?

As we came into land at Heathrow, it was cold, grey and raining :(

Bummer.
Does that mean that tonight you won't be gettin',
ah, err, never mind...
:D

It all stems from Paul Ciolino saying that Amanda "never laid eyes on" Guede. Far too much has been made about it online.

I have been in the same room with Grinder. I laid eyes on him. I socialized with people he socialized with. It doesn't mean I have ever met him. It's a very similar senario if you ask me.

I am simply aghast!!!

The Grinder,
of all folks,
went to,
or
met up with you,
+
maybe drank some cold 1's with you
at a top-less pool bar
err, I mean had some great grub at pro-innocence get-together?

And never mentioned this to us bro + bro-ettes here on The ISF
that he knew you?

Hmmm.
Hmmmm, Hmmmmm...
:eye-poppi

L8's ya'all!
The Forum is yours!

I'll check back in here in soon,
as I can't wait to read more from The Vixen!

My, oh my,
how her posts have changed so dramatically
since she 1st came aboard here at The ISF!

Yikes, after a few more posts,
she'll surpass me in postin' #'s!
And I've been here since April 2010.

Vixen?
Been here since April 2015!
You go girl!!!

Not me, guv, honestly! I refer you to the peculiar references to sex in Amanda's own book, WTBH. Even that awfully nice guy from the BBC seemed a bit shocked.

Very few 20-year olds are "ugly hags". Kimo sabi?

YES YOU ARE! Time to look in the mirror and be honest with yourself. You are definitely engaging in slut shaming. And who cares about what some guy from the BBC thinks? The fact is there was NOTHING shocking or deviant about Amanda's sex life. In fact, it was quite boring and definitely not outside the mainstream.

Amanda was forthright in discussing her sex life in WTBH. She sort of had to do it. And why shouldn't she be? After all, every aspect of her sex life and personal hygiene was written about in the tabloids by ignorant fools for years. Not to mention by people like you in forums such as this.
