I am certain this event will go off without a hitch. Basically a group of bikers plan to gather in a Denny's parking lot for a "draw Muhammad" event and then take the drawing to the nearby muslim community center that the two texas shooters attended. The organizer likes wearing (and selling!) a "F### Islam" shirt and has encouraged attendees to exercise their 2nd amendment rights at this event.

During the protest, attendees—many of whom are part of the motorcycle group, RidersUSA—will march with signs and American flags. Event organizer Jon Reitzheimer tells New Times the protest will be peaceful, and that he plans to “pull the reins in on people who want to do stupid things like throw bacon” at the center. He will also be selling black T-shirts that read “**** Islam.”

Reitzheimer scheduled the rally to coincide with Friday evening prayer, and is encouraging people to bring cartoon drawings of the Prophet Muhammad to enter into a contest. (The winner will be selected during the “after-party” at a nearby bar, Wild Bills.) There will be at least “two state militia groups to provide security,” but he’s still encouraging folks to bring guns “just in case our first amendment
comes under the much anticipated attack.”

The funny thing is that the same guys who support/go to stuff like this are the first people to completely lose their **** if they see someone stomping on an American flag.

I think this guy has had a serious break from reality. Two tours and then studying world religion mixed with the Arizona sun probably isn't a great recipe.

He is living in fear of sharia law and is also a self described atheist. I think he is going to shock a large number of attendees when they find out he isn't there to simultaneously bash Islam and promote Christianity.

He will try to rein in the throwing of pork products at the Islamic center, but he sells 'F*** Islam' shirts and encourages that his fellow protesters bring their firearms!?!
From news reports, the leader of the Islamic center has told his folks to not engage the protesters in any way, so if this protest leader is worried about someone taking away his First Amendment rights, it's going to be the local police force that will try to do it.

Aw, the po' widdle mozzies... Don't them mean old bikers know they're only supposed to mock and disrespect Xtians?

Let's just hope this "peaceful protest" (against what exactly?) doesn't degenerate into a bloody shootout with the cops which seems to happen when these thugs get together lately.

Ok, I'm lost. Why are you mocking the Muslims when their position is to simply peacefully ignore the protestors. Are you trying to mock liberals? Or atheists? Or skeptics? Or someone else?

Can we have an explanation?

I can't see anything going wrong in this event. An intelligent, well organized group of adults deciding to gather and have a good time. Sounds fun!

*shudder* just saying it made me cringe.
