George Zimmerman shot

"Without provocation". And yet I guarantee that this incident will be trotted out again and again as evidence that Zimmerman is a dangerous person who starts fights and provokes violence... Along with all the other allegations that have been made but not proven.

The whole Zimmerman narrative is rather circular: We know this story is true because it's like the other stories. We know the other stories are true because they're like this one. But really, all the stories are just *truthy*.
What a pile of straw.

Not to mention, you are taking the prosecution charge as if it is the trial's conclusion.

I thought that it had gone strangely quiet around here.

Don't worry Z haters, your hero, Apperson, won't be convicted as he is clearly psychotic.

Carry on the clown fest please.
Are you all really that conformationally biased that you didn't notice the dozens of posts here saying Apperson and Zimmerman looked to be two peas in a pod?

And I'm pretty sure if it gets quiet around here it'll be because the discussion has run its course.

I have to say I have no difficulty believing that Zimmerman has been a full participant in the stupidity between them and I could easily see him behaving as Apperson claims.

I also think Zimmerman's version of events here could be true, though.

The arrest report has some interesting details:

Det. C. Umana, who arrived on scene at Waymont Ct. shortly after Sgt. Towler arrived, overheard Apperson say, "I hope I got him this time". [...]

During the investigation, I learned that Apperson has exhibited unusual behaviors in which he had recently been admitted to a mental institution. It appears that Apperson has a fixation on Zimmerman and has displayed some signs of paranoia, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

The last paragraph is whited out from the document but visible through cut and paste...

How is it 'siding' with Apperson to say they probably both contributed?

One guy fired a gun with an intent to kill, and the other guy didn't. When this happened in the Trayvon Martin case, the Zimmerman detractors immediately concluded that the guy firing the gun was a deranged killer, and the one who was shot at was completely innocent. In the Apperson case, Zimmerman detractors are looking for mitigating circumstances for Apperson, so that they can claim they "both contributed." Would you say that Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin "both contributed" to Martin's death?

Personally, I think a reasonable starting point is that the guy who shot the gun was in the wrong. That was my initial assumption in the Trayvon Martin case until the physical evidence persuaded me otherwise. In the Apperson case, the physical evidence (to wit, Zimmerman's closed window) reinforced my initial impression. To say that they "both contributed" smacks of a false equivalence steeped in hypocrisy.

Actually, in looking back at this article, I was struck by the comments of his neighbors:

Other neighbors said Apperson had appeared 'irrational and unstable' in the days before the incident in Lake Mary, Florida.

One said: 'He was very odd and in the days before all this happened, not stable. When I saw what happened I was not surprised.

Neighbors usually say "He was such a nice guy. I'm completely shocked that he would do something like this." It takes some pretty strange behavior for your neighbor to rat you out like this.

Remember when this thread was about a guy who took a shot or two at George Zimmerman?

After it became clear that the shooter was a next level psycho, the gz detractors don't seem to want to talk about the shooter anymore.

Curious.....

Many, many posts have been shuffled off to AAH for being off-topic. In case you have forgotten, the topic centers on the recent shooting of George Zimmerman, not any past shooting by George Zimmerman.

The shooter is as ◊◊◊◊◊◊* crazy as Zimmerman. I think the guy deserves due process and then he should be separated from the rest of society. I don't think anyone is rooting for Apperson. Most people who are not fond of Zimmerman are also not fond of idiots who think they need to solve things with guns.

The problem for Apperson is that Zimmerman lived making it harder to appeal to stand your ground.

Topic of post = Shooting of George Zimmerman.
Subjects: George Zimmerman. Matthew Apperson.

My post is about the subjects that directly involved with the topic of the thread and about the subject matter "shooting".If you are going to move my post could you explain why?

Fortunately, the really disconnected nut jobs appear to also be terrible marksmen.

I think people here were rooting for Apperson because an incident like that is a zero-sum game, and they want to see Zimmerman punished or discredited, or something negative.

The problem for Apperson is that Zimmerman lived making it harder to appeal to stand your ground.

That's nonsense. If Apperson had killed Zimmerman, he would now be facing a 2nd-degree murder charge at a minimum. Zimmerman's testimony is not needed to charge (and probably convict) Apperson. Apperson's own words and the physical evidence inculpate him.

You probably should get clearance first before re-posting moderated material.

Apperson's shot actually looked pretty accurate. He probably couldn't see GZ clearly through the closed window, but that bullet had a good chance of killing GZ.
