Stonehenge is wonderfully fascinating. I remember watching a film in grade school and getting a chill up my spine when the sun rose just in the right spot. Still do.
I think Avebury is more impressive

Or Waylands Smithy

This site lists all the stone circles, standing stones, henges, hillforts, burial chambers and barrows in the UK http://www.stone-circles.org.uk/
Actualy I take back the 'All' Looking at their North Yorkshire Moors map there are a lot of things missing. Lets say it is a 'work in progress' that includes the 'major' sites.
I used to drive through Avebury occasionally for work. As someone who grew up with "Children of the Stones" it always raised the hairs on the back of my neck.
Bearing in mind it's kids TV really it was certainly a bit spooky, Iain Cuthbertson does good sinister. The ending was a bit daft (of course) . The theme music is properly chilling. Was it any good? I downloaded it the other day but then spilled beer onto my laptop and cooked my HDD, lol
Isn't that where the Pandorica is held?
