Ebola doesn't seem to me the best terrorism weapon disease. To infect and harm a very large number of people, you need an organism that can travel rapidly in the air. Ebola needs a moist environment and can only live a short time in moist air.

But to scare the maximum number of people, Ebola could possibly be a terrorism tool...

4000 people have lost their lives in what three months, due to Ebola, most of them in countries with suboptimal health care facilities. That's 16k per year if it continues.

Last year heart disease killed 600k Americans according to the CDC. Why doesn't that scare people into not smoking, eating less fat and sugar, walking a bit each day, etc.?

I believe the first case was last December with about 8400 cases so far. It is spreading exponentially, so it is not a constant. In fact the doubling rate is now estimated to be 2-3 weeks.

Well, that video of the "coffins" they're still pimping looked like it was recorded on VHS tape, so.....
 
I have been watching GLP with much interest since the first person was diagnosed with ebola in the US. GLPers were so happy - the daily forum active users quadrupled and anytime anywhere in the US people had flu-like symptoms there were 50+ page threads of people giving up to minute updates. That is until each "suspected" case came back negative, at which point those threads were deleted/forgotten about.

According to GLP, this was a global pandemic being covered up by the Dark Cabal and everyone should be bugging out and putting on their hazmat suits if they stepped foot outside of their own homes. Dozens of people were posting about how they were bugging out to their survival shelters and were getting lots of votes and praise for being "smart". Parents were talking about taking their children out of school, who were also praised for "protecting your family" and being "brave."


So today I made a thread - now that a few weeks have passed - asking why we arent all dead yet. I pointed out the accuracy of GLP on ebola (well, anything) was 0%. I counted how long it took me to get banned and have the thread deleted -

43 seconds from the time the thread posted.
 
And now that a second case has been diagnosed, GLP will be in a feeding frenzy.

Of course if my GLP post hadn't been deleted/banned in seconds they could now come tell me how I was wrong and that clearly its a pandemic now (with a total of 1 cases that have been transmitted in the US).

I have been watching it as well, it's hilarious.

Maybe I will finally register there and start the same thread you tried to.

GLP seems to be of the mind that its spread is intentional and designed to kill us all because Obama.

Cluesforum OTOH thinks Ebola is fake.
