Ebola in America

Its not personal. If the Cowboys were from LA I am sure god would have sent Ebola there.

Cheer up, the 'boys may actually be good enough to actually hate this year. It has been so long since they did anything worth even noticing.

That should be a chargeable offense. Certainly enough to confine them until after the danger time period.

Come on, they took that quarantine thingie just as serious as health authorities. :eye-poppi

Don't Texas have quarantine wards?

I'm surprised the girlfriend isn't in isolated observation since it would be quite stunning if she isn't infected after hearing about all the contaminated items in the apartment.

Well, today not only are they ordered not to leave the apartment or have anyone in, the police are parked outside to enforce the quarantine.

Somehow there is nothing specific on why/where they went or when they had food delivered.

And nothing on a quarantine ward being set up.

From the link in the OP, three of four of the first imported patients were released from the hospital cured. But that article is almost week old. Seems that treatment in good facilities can handle the disease.

Any news about Mr Duncan's condition?

According to the latest reports, his condition is "lying scumbag". The way I see it, he owes me a thumb.

Also, checking people's temperature before they board the plane? What kind of amateur hour disease control strategy is that? It's like the whole thing is designed so that a person can get infected, get on a plane, fly to a distant continent, and start spreading the disease.

They also had that experimental medicine that was all used up by treating them.

You must not be watching the latest news. Food is being delivered and there is a police car parked in front of the apartment. CDC is announcing they've been working on decon, including spraying a sidewalk out front the infected man threw up on.

What would you do if you'd been exposed to a highly lethal disease and you had a chance to get to the US before symptoms set in? Say you were a returning tourist and a US citizen?

I'd lie and go, like a lot of people who wanted to live would.

It's at least going to stop people already showing symptoms from getting on the plane. Clearly people exposed are going to lie. It's a given if they are worried about their life and they see people sent to the US live.

A community leader said they had been trying to get help for the dead man for days, but no ambulance ever came. When the man died, a burial team came in an hour.
Except he wasn't dead yet.

If you choose to lie and go back to the states you do not go home. You do not go home. You do not go home.

You go straight to a hospital or possibly to a motel room where you can be isolated.

"It was really stressful putting that dying Ebola lady in the wheelbarrow yesterday and now I need a hug and a kiss from all of you guys. I love my family."

That's a very good point. Makes me think we should expect more like this.

On CNN they started the report by saying he was "Fighting for his life". But they did not elucidate on that, and it may have just been narrative grabber.

I remember when only a few black people in Africa got ebola, it was not curable
Now as soon as some white people get ebola they have come up with this new procedure to cure them.
Do any of you bleeding heart liberals think that there is something not kosher about this?
