Phill Robertson, the long bearded, Louisiana terrorist is turning irony meters into weapons of mass destruction

On a recent interview on Fox, Robertson had the following to say:

“You either have to convert them, which I think is almost impossible,” Robertson told Hannity. “I’m not giving up on them, but I’m saying convert them or kill them.”

Is this guy really that stupid?

This is what I call shouting in a mirror. That's what fundamentalists do when they stumble upon other brands of fundamentalists. Weirdly, they somehow can't detect the fact that they have more in common with those they are shouting down than they do with disinterested parties.

How many heads has Phil Robertson cut off?

You'd have to ask him, I suppose. I wouldn't know.

It's rarely the rhetoric spewers that do the head severing. It's the people responding to their exaggerations that usually cause the death count.

When he looks in the mirror does he see someone who kills (brutally) because of differing beliefs?

The convert them or kill them part makes me think of the Necromongers from The Chronicles Of Riddick.

He certainly seems to advocate for such an attitude, even if he's not willing to do the dirty work himself. The main difference is that he's too much of a coward to follow through, I think. It's certainly not an ideological difference.

It is generally Doctrine that the thought is the deed. Certainly the denominations that practice Confession have that attitude.
So he is betraying his faith by the mere thinking of such deed
.

I suppose one may give him the benefit of the doubt and say he would kill "them" humanely. “I’m not giving up on them, but I’m saying convert them or kill them.” - That said I really don't think it matters that much if an ideologue wants to kill someone brutally or humanely - it's the killing that I object to.

I suspect most members of ISIS have not personally beheaded anyone either..... lack of actually beheading a person doesn't mean Duck Daddy's attitude is any the less reprehensible.

The Spanish Inquisition will rise again!

Oh wait... doesn't that mean we've got to kill protestant varieties of Christianity as well?
