Merged Bigfoot follies

I believe it is much more plausible that an intelligent, curious creature picked something up off the ground and tossed it back into the camp than someone claiming to see over a hundred sasquatches morph out of the trees or one run across a road in a translucence state.

Why? It makes sense to me. How come we can't find Bigfoot? I'll tell ya why... coz they morph into trees... hundreds of them. And Predatorfoot. That's why. Your whole "plausible" thing is holding you back. Stop overthinking this stuff. Your Footerfu is old and out of date. It might have flown back in the day, but you're getting stomped by a new breed, NL. That corny sasquatch routine is old hat.

Yes, it's much more believable...

A giant hairy biped picked up a small chunk of sugar, didn't eat it, but carried it near your camp, and threw it over.

As opposed to...

It fell out of the clothes of the person who had been eating from a box of them.

Or

The person who had been eating them hoaxed you.

Yes, go with the giant hairy biped. It's the most reasonable explanation.

Give me an explanation for what I saw and I will be more than happy to listen. So far, the best that has been offered up what two guys on each others shoulders, walking through the forest without a flashlight. Yeah, right.

You want us to tell you what you saw solely from your own description of what you saw?

And your description is of a creature that you already believed in? That you saw in an infrared scope?

And you are indignant that we can't shake your belief in what you saw?

Really?

Fireflies mating?

The males do group together and blink in sync so the female can find them. Try it yourself, get a small flashlight, stay still, flash it and they wiil swarm you. Perhaps your own flashlights that night confused them?

Apophenia: an unmotivated seeing of connections and a specific feeling of abnormal meaningfulness

http://hunkrock.blogspot.com/2011/11/apophenia-from-wikipedia-free.html

An author, Lisa Shiel, received a write-up in our local paper when she released, through her own publishing company, the book Backyard Bigfoot: The True Story of Stick Signs, UFOs and the Sasquatch. In a spirit of community affection and curiosity I bought a copy. Echoing Strindberg and his sticks, she devotes 52 pages and no less than 56 black and white photographs to the phenomena of “stick signs,” which she describes as “sticks arranged in meaningful and distinctly unnatural displays [which] serve as the medium for their [bigfoots9] nonverbal communication.” The “stick signs” she catalogs are arrangements of simple shapes: squares, triangles and crosses, although she asserts that “parallel sticks and crossed sticks seem to dominate.”

It’s really a lovely example of apophenia in action. If we remember Conrad’s two tier definition: an unmotivated seeing of connections and a specific feeling of abnormal meaningfulness, we can see both of these here. The author has seen shapes (connections) in the arrangements of the sticks and has ascribed a great deal of meaningfulness to them by associating them with a supernatural creature. When we think back to Ramsey (and common sense), we know that it would be difficult not to see some sort of patterned arrangement among sticks lying on the ground.

Yeah... And if they say they saw one their lives will be ruined by the scoffics, the denialists, the ignorants and the gubnmint spooks.

Worms are a good food source, it seems that a bigfoot could tree knock and get them to rise.

"Worm charmers" don't use knocking they use grinding vibration. If knocking worked they would be doing that instead. Bigfoot would have learned that by now if it is a vermivore.

Under that premise, you could too right? uhh... not.

I'm increasingly numbed by the amount of silliness tossed out there by bigfooters. It is an insane concept, based on lies/hoaxes and little else. (yes, insane) For reasons of brevity, I'll stop there.

You don't think it's a matter of degree? What about one sighting versus habituation? Who is more insane?
