Next he will be accusing us of being members of a Government Black Ops unit, being paid to undermine his work at Area X.

You are advocating a Skeptic Kristallnacht at the BFF? You think the so-called scoftics wouldn’t be willing to change their mind should evidence be presented of the creature’s existence? You didn’t read the posts in question? Most of which involved the physics of an ape breaking a giant tree? You think questioning the physics of such an endeavor is a breech of some special deal you had with the BFF? Those mods went out of their way to protect you, shield you from commentary, while you had the freedom to say whatever you wanted to the enthralled Bigfooters. The poor firearm discipline, the stories about the beast laying in the bushes, your incessant denial that people tricking you was a valid explanation, all topics that I couldn’t question you about. Free reign you had. When the tree break incident was narrated,by you, and a group of Footers even laughed and PM’d me about the large beast in the tree, I thought you had reached your personal Bridge at Arnhem, of course I didn’t think you’d retreat at that point. It seems that like Monty, you thought you’d be bailed out by the cavalry, unfortunately for you and Monty, you goofed.

Wow! After reading his ridiculous rant about flukes, there were quite a few comments
that were interesting.
They looked/sounded like true believers, but have lost faith in Brian Brown.

For years, bipto and the other mods at the BFF were protective of my presence there, stating again and again that skeptics made the site better. I guess it was okay until bipto himself was the one working the yarn-spinning loom. Too bad.
 
Announcing yourself publicly as a "Knower" is like like awarding ~yourself~ a black belt.

You must be able to reflect on why you were regarded as a "true skeptic" and liked. It was because you didn't deny the existence of Bigfoot and encouraged the gathering of evidence.

:D Beckjordery! You're probably not aware of how anti-Beckjord BB really was back at the old BFF¹. Because of, or in spite of the fact Beckjord was a forum operator's nightmare, I think he actually hated the guy. Then again, isn't it only a thin line between love and hate?

I can't help but think it's all one big TOSH.0 skit. It's impossible to believe BB believes anything he's saying. How could he? It's strictly for power grabbing in his own little Ape world. We know he's not seeing "real" Wood Apes, and unless he's hallucinating while in a coma he knows he's not seeing them either, so anything he says contradicting that is an obvious and even flagrant lie. And believing one's own lies as the "cosmic truth" is a disorder a lot more sinister than pathetically seeking dubious fame and fortune through an obscure (and unaccredited) southern Oklahoma based Wood Ape Grand Poobah-manship College that sits on only 10 acres. Or maybe not. :eye-poppi

I'm actually a pretty big fan of Brian Brown the podcast host, so long as he's not harping on about the Area X stuff. He, Herriott, and Vella crack me up.

Brian Brown the blogger/BFF poster seems like a completely different person though. Not funny, intelligent, clever or insightful like he is on the BFS.

Humph, I agree that the BFF is mismanaged. I also agree that there are close minded JREF members. However,my own experience with BB was that he refused to consider the alternative explanations that were proposed for the activity attributed to bigfoot. It looks like the pot calling the kettle black, there are also pseudo believers, or Blaargers??? as ABP puts it.

Ditto, a true skeptic is one that recognizes the existence of bigfoot as a possibility even if that potential grows dim exponentially over the years. At some point, one has to accept that the possibility is extremely unlikely. Otherwise, it becomes a matter of faith.

I don't necessarily think denying the existence of bigfoot makes one a pseudo skeptic, I believe it makes one rational/logical. However, going over to a pro bigfoot forum, and beating that dead horse relentlessly, does put a JREF member into the troll category with some other agenda. It's unnecessary since most BFF members lurk here anyway as if we were a train wreck that they can't look away from :)
 
My message was and always has been "There is no bigfoot. If you think there is, then put up or shut up." The only difference in my current view of the subject is that I'm a lot less inclined to believe that the people claiming to think that there is a bigfoot actually do.

I was tolerated there for years, regularly making statements just like those I make here. Of course I was pushing buttons - that's why multiple people called for my dismissal. Every time the issue came up, however, the powers that be defended my right to be there and push those buttons.
