As for the mind-body debate: Science and materialism won the debate long ago, switched off the lights, and went home to have dinner. The only people still arguing the point are doing so in an empty, darkened hall.
That's a shame 'cause if you could crush the god out of human hearts you could make God wine.
Everyone here is trying to put down religious beliefs (almost everyone).
I cited the religious repression in Russia as evidence it does not work.
Even in that extreme circumstance where little old ladys were put in mental hospitals for twenty years and given all kinds of aversion therapy using drugs, they went back to church when they were released.
Exactly. And it doesn't matter if it's religion; any false or unsupported belief is fair game. So? This is a forum for critical thinking, not sycophantic religious agreement. Critically examining religious theories is not "putting down" religion, it is recognizing the fallacies inherent in the theories. If you want sycophantic and mindless religious agreement, you've come to the wrong place.

Mind is brain.
It has been said that Dennet has explained consciousness away without explaining it.
Define reality.
Do you have any examples of a mind without a brain we could examine?
I support her beliefs, I advise against suicide, I recommend getting healing in A church, I suggest she could get medical advice.
Where exactly am I trying to take advantage?
Stuff that can be shown to exist.

If there is a spirit world, clearly consciousness is not from the brain, because the brain is a part of the body, and dies with it. I subscribe to the conclusion of Descartes which is, we are the ghost in the machine.
Non sequitur. If there is a spirit world, clearly consciousness is not from the brain, because the brain is a part of the body, and dies with it.

to show that the spirit world you believe in exists.... e=mxc2 ...
Go ahead and use:
to show that the spirit world you believe in exists.
No, you didn't say that. Nor does it answer my request to you to show that the spirit world you believe in exists.Like I said, the formula can be transposed to show that matter does not exist.

ALL matter can be converted back into energy. In any case we are nothing but atomic particles, bound together by the laws of physics. Like gravity and the nuclear forces. If those forces were a little weaker we would be able to walk through walls.
No, you didn't say that. Nor does it answer my request to you to show that the spirit world you believe in exists.
Well then, please demonstrate the existence of your spirit world!
Descartes was a dualist. Fine mathematician, but believed in complete nonsense with regards to the mind.Hmm! let me see, the mind body problem as posited by Descartes goes....
The body is an extended unthinking thing, but the mind is an unextended thinking thing.
Almost. Mind is what brain does. The solution by Daniell Dennet in his book "consciousness explained" is....
Mind is brain.
And yet, no-one is pointing to what exactly is missing from Dennett's explanation. It has been said that Dennet has explained consciousness away without explaining it.
Indeed. This is strong evidence that you are not a tuatara.I am still trying to get my third eye to work, but without success.
