Chuck Baldwin. He was endorsed by Ron Paul. Anyone who thinks Ron Paul is some sort of freedom fighter and who in any way sees the seperation of church and state as an important issue as to freedom should browse that party's platform...

I guess he's less than .1% or else he'd be on the c-span map. I imagine the total results will be available in over the next week or so...
 
Quiite a few Libertarians either stood this one out and held their nose and voted for someone else because of Bob Barr. I guess his switch from one of the leaders of the GOP religious right to a libetarian did not sell very well.

McCain's failure as a candidate reflects his poor upholding of Libertarian ideals. His defeat as a candidate shows conservatives disavowal of big-government, instrusive government non-libertarian ideals. His resounding failure shows the failure of the Republican pandering to the media and the socialist democrats. This strong showing represents a conservative return to libertarian roots and philosophy.

The libertarian voter base it too fractured and ideology driven to ever unite as something useful.

Possibly, except that 4 years ago, Libertarian hero (and Constitutional "scholar" LOL!) Michael Badnarik also won zero percent of the vote.

Agreed, and Badnarik is a kook.
But the point is you did not have nearly the criticism with him from long time Libertarians that you did with Barr, primarily because Barr has such a poor record on many libertarian social issues.
 
Badnarik has his own show on Genesis now, between the Alex Jones Show and The Armchair Survivalist I think.
 
They are creeping up on 1%. On 2004 Badnarik got 397,265 votes, 0.32%. According to FoxNews Barr got 486,928 votes, 0.40%. At this rate by 2016 they will round up to 1%!
 
Thanks SC, for a little bit I was afraid you had lost your obsession with the Libertarian Party. Thanks for not letting me down.

That's a wrong statement - factually it should be:

Zero Coverage = Zero Percent for Libertarian Party.
Democracy humiliated yet again.
 
Libertarians don't expect to win anything.

Apparently the Libertarians, like other third parties, expect to lose bigtime and run only to find a public platform from which to expound their talking points. This can be a useful addition to political discourse. I wonder whether any Libertarian candidates are actually prepared to assume office, should they ever win.
