ZEITGEIST, The Movie

and if you took away income tax, how would the USA govt pay back the Fed? They would have to increase the other taxes, would they not?

TAM:)
Not only that... how would they be able to afford a new investigation into 9/11? :D

They arent paying back the Fed. That is the problem here. They are paying the interest only. That is why our national debt keeps going up.

Debt is slavery.
Alright, let's say I agree with that. It's SELF-IMPOSED slavery. Does the government force anyone to get a credit card? Does it demand a single one of its citizenry live outside their means? No, borrowing is a choice to give one a better lifestyle than they could have afforded without it, and that's nothing more than a personal choice.

And even if you're drowning in debt, at the end of the day unless you've committed fraud to get around it you still get to go home and live your life any damn way you want to. I can guarantee you that if I had slaves, they'd never get that opportunity.

whether they are paying back the principle or the interest only, it still has to be paid back. If you take away Income Tax, who will pay the interest and/or the principle on the debt to the Fed?

TAM:)

Also... the bigger problem is that the government has to borrow so much in the first place. Government is too big and we shouldnt be going to war all the time for no reason. If you think about it this is exactly what I would want to happen if I was an evil banker. Bigger government, lots of wars.

Complaining about the problem is the easy part. If you don't have a solution, and the ability to implement it, than your vocalization and complaints are useless.

Yes I agree it is a choice. I guess this makes most Americans dumb-****'n retarded. We live in a culture that encourages this type of borrowing. Young kids especially want to live the life style they see on tv.

I couldn't POSSIBLY agree more with you there. But that's not the fault of the government. They can't just forgive debt because it would be the nice thing to do, that's what parents are for.

And if you want the government to be your parents, you might want to look into the defintion of slavery again.

Haha. It doesnt matter anymore.
Agreed. I was just funnin' there. :)

Rigghhtt...I am going to have to go ahead and disagree with you on that one. Being vocal about this stuff is half the battle. The solution to me is obvious, and I do try to implement a solution by voting.

If you want to discuss whether the Income Tax is the best way to raise revenue for the Government, fine;that is a legitimate debate.
But don't run this Federal Reserve is a conspiracy crap on me.
And don't get me into how "International Bankers" is often just a code word for "The Jews".

Yes, I agree technically it is not the fault of the government. However, if the bankers really do have as much power as believed, dont you think they could have a lot of influence on the media?

It seems you need to get some stuff off your chest. I didnt say anything about Jews or a conspiracy. I simply said it needs to be changed.

you just said it doesn't make any difference who you vote for, so your "implementing" is kind of useless.

You still havent answered me. If the Income tax is removed, what will replace it in terms of paying for the interest and/or principle on the debt to the Fed?

TAM:)

So do advertisers, but Burger King isn't part of any great conspiracy beyond profitting by providing a service that people are willing to pay for.

And 10 years ago I was RIGHT where you are now, which is why I truly pray you take it to heart when I say "even if you don't realize it, you're coming off as anti-semetic there without using the word 'Jew.'" The buzzwords you're using ("international bankers," "media") are nothing but sheep's clothing for racists who don't want to be looked at as racist.

I did not say it doesnt make any difference who I vote for. I implied that Dems and Reps are essentially the same. I'm really getting sick and tired of you guys putting words in my mouth. I also didnt say anything about voting for a person neccesarily. I can vote on laws too you know. If you didnt know, I dont HAVE to vote for a republican or democrat. There are plenty of people to vote for associated with other parties.

To answer your question...I stated earlier that the government is too big and that that is half the problem right there. If you want to know how to support a government without an income tax do a little research and find out how we did it from 1776 to 1913 when there was no income tax.

So you think that a system that was used from 100-200 years ago is going to work with the current state of the USA???

That's why it pissed me off so much that Rev was using Bill Hicks as his avatar during the week or so he was here: The man who summed up our political system with "here's the puppet on the right hand, and here's the one on the left hand... and look, the SAME BODY is controlling both of them" would never have ascribed to the dogmatic garbage he lives by.

Hell, his take on conspiracy theories is one of the funniest bits he ever did... too bad those who laugh at it while suscribing to them take it as an edorsement rather than being mocked.
