1. warren described herself as a minority in a law school directory

2. Warren was touted as a Native American faculty member while tenured at Harvard Law School in the mid-1990s.

3. Warren has described herself as having Cherokee and Delaware Indian ancestry.

4. warren said. "I'm proud of my Native American heritage," on CNN.

I'm afraid it might just be Jill Stein I vote for again (yeah, I didn't vote for Obama in the last one) if it's between Clinton and Bush (or Clinton and ANY Republican likely to run, really). I think she's a little TOO far in left field in some ways, but I don't think I'd vote for Hillary. Strangely, I would vote for her husband if he were allowed to run again though. I'd like to see us have our first woman president, and it's embarrassing that a backwards woman-despising fanatical ****hole like Pakistan beat us to the punch (granted they also killed her), but I really don't want it to be Hillary Clinton.

I don't think it's that explainable for me. It's really more like I just don't like her personality/manner in general or something. Maybe it's just something in her voice I find annoying (can't pin it down). It has nothing to do with the affair thing -- that I could say for sure. Perhaps it COULD have something to do with Botox injections though... that sort of makes people come off as a little fake more than anything to me.

The thing is, if I instinctively don't like someone -- even if I can't actually give a specific reason why -- I won't vote for them, even if we share many of the same political views on the surface, I just won't trust them. That doesn't mean that I'll vote for their leading opponent either though. I've been known to write in "no confidence" or something to indicate that I don't like any of the choices.

...but yeah, words like "phony" and "fake" sort of sum up my impression of her, in any case. Worse so than than you would generally expect from politicians, even.

Umm... I think Thatcher was probably better liked in the US than she was in Britain (and mostly by Republicans, at that), in case you didn't know. She has plenty of detractors over there even today, and a reputation as a union-buster.

Indeed, he married a Mexican-born woman and his kids are mixed, But as the New Yorker reminds us, "ethnic identities are not exactly elective". Lets see if the same people who got outraged over Elizabeth Warren claiming some Native American ancestry get similarly frothed up by Brother Bush's decision to abandon his New England roots.

Jeb is the Establishment's choice. This means he is a de facto RINO. Ergo, a faux conservative is as likely to be outraged over Jeb's faux heritage as Warren's.

At least Jeb actually speaks Spanish. I doubt Liz speaks Cherokee.

In the Jeb Bush household, Spanish is all that is spoken. No permitió Inglés.

It's truly a joke of gargantuan proportions to compare this to Elizabeth Warren's ethnic fraud. Regardless of whether she was brought up believing that she had Native American ancestry, she (a) was a lawyer and must have known that qualifying as a minority, and particularly as a Native American, for the purposes of extra consideration in employment opportunities (which includes positions at federally funded universities) requires something more than family lore or tales of the high cheekbones of her Mee-Maw; and (b) she never demonstrated any affinity for or interest in Native Americans or Native American issues, either before landing her tenured position at Harvard or after. She even stopped identifying herself as Native American in the Law Professor Directory the year she started at Harvard.

Not a fan of Thatcher, but I agree with you in principle, and I have suspected that some candidates in the past haven't had much more of a point than "I want to be the first woman president".* Be the better candidate, don't use your sex as a gimmick and I'll vote for you.

That's not a high bar, sadly. My politics average out to be centrist, so where I stand Hillary isn't good, she just sucks less than whatever scum sucker the GOP serves up next year.

I don't think anyone has compelling evidence either way. It was a private matter between the Clintons. Our opinions on the matter are probably the best we're going to do.

I don't necessarily think Hilary's motives weren't political in origin. I don't necessarily think they were either. I never thought about it too much.

I'm from Britain. I am well aware of her policies and the state of the country when she entered office. And the National Union of Miners attempt to bring down an elected government* with an illegal (unballoted) strike.

I don't see much room for mystery here. In each case, the magnitude of screaming seems to be roughly proportional to the magnitude of the offense. You may not be the right person to ask, since you don't really care about either offense, but if you're saying your expectations about similar screaming are reasonable, then you have the burden of showing that the offenses are similar as well.
