You could see this coming... toner and ink cartridges banned from airliners

Meanwhile somewhere in a dark grotto, a few laughing bastard ask themselves what will be the next item they will make the US ban on flight. They only regret that their scheme to make evrybody fly without clothing and shoe did not hold (too much too soon even for TSA?).

Yup, they're probably holding contests to see what's the next inanity they can get the TSA to do.

All opaque, sealed objects are potential bombs. What's special about ink cartridges?

A day will come when people themselves will be banned to fly unless they are dead and pose no threat .

I pray mobile phones will stay banned.

I remember (just after the Iraqis invaded Kuwait) American Airlines refusing to let me take a Sony Walkman on a flight unless I put the batteries in the hold.
Has anyone looked at the specs of the two batteries in an iPad? I'm amazed we are permitted such potential bombs.

Is anyone going to be seriously inconvenienced by not taking toner on a flight?

Probably few people.

But how does this make traveling actually safer, beyond only adding yet one more prohibition to flying?

Hopefully, someone will try to turn a screaming baby into a bomb. Please hurry!

Please.
It's not a grotto. It is not anywhere near water. Mt Myopic, Colorado, is where all the TSA rules are decided:

The new TSA motto: A day late and a dollar short...oh and while we're at it let us molest you or take pictures of your genitals for posterity.

Re clothes: reminds me of a certain pair of thermite painted overalls from mythbusters. Which considering the nature of the ct crowd that comes here is probably appropriate.
