This be the thread where you drop your Stundie Nomination beats for that most August of months.

I'm thinking of using the phrase "be jammers" in all my sentences now.

This one is pretty brief, but it doesn't really work without context.

I also didn't even say "I'm gonna set up a blog", I'm still thinking about it.
Ah, so the course of action is not to do something easy and inconsequential, but to think about doing something easy and inconsequential.
Serious question: what makes you think it is easy?

Yes, he's talking about setting up a blog. Why would anyone think that was easy?

Dave is right. But the real howler comes from the even larger context. The OP from that very thread was:
If you believe that conspiracy is truly what is going on, what are you as individuals doing about it in the sense of coming up with a plan of action which will thwart the ultimate goals of these power mongers?

Thank You.
These power mongers have conducted a supposed conspiracy that's killed thousands if not a couple of orders of magnitude more, cost the average American citizen millions in terms of government spending and much in terms of international reputation, gotten the US into two wars, and all along have blithly escaped justice... but setting up a blog is just too hard a thing to do in order to fight this nefarious problem.

I guess that's why they spend so much time spamming comments sections of news stories and other forums. At least they're willing to put forth the effort to register themselves there.

Feel free to come up with a conspiracy of your own making, present some credible arguments pro and try to make it in a pleasantly readable form, not all cap nonsense in 434 different colors with 56 spelling mistakes. Say what? No can do? Criticizing is easy, I'll give you that.

And here's the next nomination from the same source.

There are just so many levels to this one. It's difficult to spell things correctly, for a start; if only someone could find a way that computers could make that easier. As for those multicoloured all caps fonts, apparently they're just the default, and nobody can ever find the button that sets "MULTICOLOURED FLASHING PAPYRUS?" to "No."

But the hardest thing about it - and this is the most telling part - is that you have to make up the conspiracy theory yourself. It's nothing to do with telling the truth that you've discovered; conspiracism is a purely creative endeavour. Something we've all been saying, of course, but it's nice to see it acknowledged.

This is pure class. I can hardly wait for the next submission.

A Stundie nomination from within the Stundie nomination thread?!?

Is that some sort of record?

One of my Stundie noms

Note the lack of challenge for the 'inconsequential' part of 'easy and inconsequential'.
A non sequitur, it is not because something is not challenged that it is true. An inconsequential post with inconsequential in it. A true beauty of a matrushka.

In the "Be Careful What You Wish For" department, here is a good one from the JFK thread.

All claims discredited? Really? Name just one. You guys are a laugh riot.

That the shadows in the backyard photos are impossible.
That JFKs brains are visible in the Z film.
That Jack White is an "expert" in photography.
That the cherry picked statements you misunderstand describe the wounds you think.
That LHO was a spy involved in spy planes.
That the "deathstare" photo was not a cropped and rotated version of the known autopsy photos. Ditto the wound you think it shows.
Claims that the black and white photo was a close up of an exit wound on the back of jfks head.
That you listed 40+ medical witnesses.

That's what I figured. You could not and would not name just one. Of course, all of the above is your own twisted gobbledeegook.

There are plenty of skeptic blogs that are easily read and source their info. If you are asking skeptics to set up blogs that provide evidence for conspiracy theories they don't believe then you are truly barking up the wrong tree.

Does writing a well written and sourced essay take time? Yes. If you have evidence and significant amount of interest is it impossible? No. Notice how few we'll written and sourced skeptic blogs there are? None.

Either way this has been the best opening stundies page af all time and thus I nominate it in its entirety. Please point me in the direction of the winners circle.

Okay, come on now, fess up: You're just pulling our legs with this one, right? Right?

Oh man, greatest thread ever.

Alex Jones and I are going to think about writing a kick ass blog about it.

Okay, come on now, fess up: You're just pulling our legs with this one, right? Right?

What's ironic is that he's specifically said that all he needs is incredulity, yet he's here getting snarky about how "criticism is easy".

Is that how I ended up with a Miafiori?

Are we sure this is not Stundie HIMSELF?!?!?!?!

Yet "twoofers" are ridiculed as twoofers for doubting the official story regarding Flight 93 when the debris of a nearly vertical impact at top speed nose first into earth supposedly is big enough to look like this:

http://www.spiegel.de/img/0,1020,610462,00.jpg

So, because the pieces are TOO BIG, it means the crash of UAL 93 didn't crash into the ground as evidence shows.

Not sure why it would be too big, since that piece is...well..... relatively small compared to an entire plane.

Cool.
