Yet another overunity machine

Does Craig know that you think he is gullible ?
Why do you assume that anybody on this thread is gullible in this matter ?

Some consider an ongoing and known fraud to be a "developing and very interesting matter."

I have not seen anybody indicate a total belief in this developing and very interesting matter .

Ah, yes.

Or are you privy to other information ?

Just the history of cold fusion.

A true Sceptic first checks his base points before making assumptions .

It seems highly likely that the Cold Fusion sceptics could soon have egg all over them .
Rossi's E- CAT low energy nuclear "cold fusion " reactor is producing remarkable results in its 12 month trial under independent audit .Having been acquainted with preliminary findings ,I am told it shows that the ratio between output and input power is in the range of 20 - 80 --- meaning that the heat plant is consuming 15 - 50 kw while producing 1mw . With no change of fuel over 12 months and consisting of just a few grams of a mix which is mainly lithium , hydrogen and nickel .
If true , the implications are a planet changer . Regardless , a partner firm already has the rights to produce and sell E-CAT technologies all over the planet and most interestingly this includes Saudi Arabia and the UAE , as well as the full list of usual suspects .
It might be wise to stop babbling about Free and Over Unity energy and actually look at a Coefficient of Performance as we hopefully welcome a new era in our history .
Results are published very soon , so remember the advice about laughing last

When the temperature in Hell reaches 0 degrees C.

It is no assumption that Rossi is a con man, his record speaks for itself and it's no assumption that he has produced nothing an that his physics are impossible.

Nope. :D

Right....
Having been acquainted with preliminary findings
Evidence for this claim?

So? Rossi's a fraudster.

Right... Rossi and his cheerleaders have been promising results "very soon" for years. It's still a scam for the gullible and ignorant.

I see you are one of those who enjoys the possibility of egg all over you .
Instead of you telling us how clever you are to spot a scam , just wait for the results .
Every thing you say is well known , and certainly by me , but much is reasonably disputed . And I am not dogmatic , as you are .
The basic claims are as reported and the 12 month study is independent with glowing preliminary results .
The partner is International Heating . But let time and facts do the talking -- not bluster and prejudice .
So there is, in reality, none of your claimed "evidence".
Pathetic.

Strictly speaking, what Rossi is claiming is neither "Free energy" or "Over-unity." If it worked, it could be described as "Cold fusion."
The fusion reaction between nickel and hydrogen was demonstrated somewhere around 1936 but only took place if the hydrogen nuclei (protons) were accelerated to 6 MeV. Since few of the protons interacted with the nickel the COP was minuscule. Notably, although the result contained copper isotopes, the mix was quite different from that claimed by Rossi in his experiments.

Rossi's operation can best be described as a "free energy scam"; the alleged details of transmutation of nickel to copper (even massive stars can't manage this - Rossi must have a table top supernova at his disposal - which nevertheless requires to be plugged into the local power supply in order to perform its magic!) are mere imaginary elaborations. The basic message is "power for nothing; buy into this and get rich."

The same principle underlay his "Petroldragon" waste to power scam, decades ago, which cost millions of euro to clean up, paid for by the unfortunate taxpayers of Lombardy.

This phenomena is called the Manyana syndrome, it relies on gullible donors contributing funds to an enterprise which simply cannot succeed, and in fact is not intended to succeed. PT Barnum understood well the allure of the quick
buck!

There are those, who if given the chance, will profit from ignorance!

I think you mean "mañana, not a word that looks vaguely like it's from Hindi. The term is usually used as a synonym for "procrastination." Or maybe this is the Swedish spelling for it.

Perhaps you're thinking of a Ponzi schemeWP?

I first heard of the Tewari fraud when I was in India last month, from a moderator on Project Avalon who was also in India. At first I was inclined to think it might not be impossible, but then I recalled an evening at a restaurant a few weeks previously, where I met a guy who was starting up a business selling spring water which, he claimed, had been specially treated and was thereby conducive to longevity. I hoped he did not actually believe his own nonsense; that would have made him pitifully deluded, but at least not fraudulent by intent. As the discussion wore on it became evident that he did believe his own lies quite fervently. I was the only one at the table who expressed mocking incredulity, the others seemed to suck it all in. He wasn't bothered by my interventions, he had a vast majority of suckers, some of them obviously quite well-off. Later on I met people who had purchased this special water. Paramahansa Tewari has a good chance of making money, in my opinion.

No one ever went broke by overestimating human gullibility.

No matter how big the bull someone will buy it.

Why? It's clearly utter rubbish.

Yes, WHY did I think it might be possible? A good question. Misplaced hope? Also, I do not count myself as a scientist, having very little scientific or technical knowledge. For example, the global airline industry promotes air travel as statistically safe based on their assertion that the number of people who die in crashes per air mile is vastly less than the number of people who die per car mile. Because I lack mathematical knowledge it took me years to figure out the salient issue is the number of people who die per journey, not per distance, in terms of likelihood of fatal accidents.

How does the comparison shake out when you do it that way?

On a per-journey basis, I feel safest stopping every 10 feet to turn what would be an hour's drive into 30,000 or so separate journeys.

A journey of forty miles begins with a single 10 foot drive.

(Sounds a bit like my golf game, now that I write it out.)
