Why did Joseph Stalin sacrifice his own son Yakov Dzhugashvili for a nazi like Friedrich Paulus? Hitler and Nazi Germany offered to trade his son Yakov Dzhugashvili for Friedrich Paulus but when Stalin heard about the offer he said "I have no son,". How can anybody think that the end result of WW2 was a victory?

Yes America was proud of being and allie of Joseph Stalin during WW2. FDR supported Stalin. I will never leave in my home like my grandfather did because of Stalin. Karelia is Finland. You americans should be ashamed of you selfs for your FDR supporting Stalin and Truman dropping a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima.

In that case, wikipedia would be wrong. It's not going to happen. I doubt the Russians would give it to us, and except for the few loudmouths keeping the issue alive, nobody in Finland really wants Karelia -- we can't afford it.

Oh I agree. My comment was probably a bit too strong, I was mearly wanting to show that there is some peaceful discussion and debate about it.

i am very proud that we helped Stalin defeat the Nazi evil. and many believe that dropping the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki actually saved lives, had we gone through with a full scale invasion.

Moon- would you prefer we had made allies with Hitler and had 11 million dead Jews..instead of 6? Allowed Fascism to rule Europe?

Uh, you do know that Stalin was a pretty viscous Anti Semite himself?
I think that the Alliance with Stalin was necessary....Hitler was by far the greater menace...but it is not something I would brag about. It was something that had to be done.

And those few loudmouths are probably the ones doing the editing of Wikipedia.
Izzy, frankly, when it comes to contorvesial political issues, Wikipedia is VERY unreliable. That's the problem with being a enclyclopedia that anybody can edit....
FInland will get Karalia back about the same time Germany gets East Prussia back,and Mexico gets Texas and California back.
