Worst Headline Ever

And of course all New Yorkers in the 1970's remember:

Curious as to why you would use the word repugnant?

Do you know anything about the sinking of the Belgrano, Jerome? 323 Argentine sailors killed in a very, very controversial manner. Tabloids gleefully carping over the death of hundreds of people, during war time or not, is pretty much the definition of repugnant.

I chuckled 2 weeks ago when our paper had the following headline (with the same line break):

Mother murdered
baby arrested.

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragical.

As indicated by Volatile, I refer to the headline, the article and the whole editorial stance taken by this supposed newspaper over this story - a war incident in which hundreds are killed in what must have been a most horrendous manner and they report on it almost as if it were some sort of sports game (yeah! our team scored!). Absolutely shameful.

It seems to me that wars have always been reported as something of a sporting event, or are sporting events now just reported like war once was?
