Stevens found guilty of scheming to hide gifts

A jury has found U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska guilty on all seven counts of making false statements on Senate disclosure forms. Stevens, 84, is the longest-serving Republican senator in history. He requested a speedy trial in hopes of clearing his name before Election Day. Don't count on it.
Alaska Republicans don't mind a little felony now and then.

Although I find that our National crooked Republicans are a bit chicken$$it compared to our state government crooked Repulicans.

The state guys made hats and T-shirts identifying themselves as members of "the corrupt bastards club".

So Stevens has time to file an appeal, which will put his conviction on hold until after the election. He may win the election, lose his appeal, and his successor will be appointed by the Gov. Who might appoint herself, if she fails to get the V.P. position?
