Windows 10

I've been using the Windows 10 Preview on my primary computer since the beginning of the year; even in its unfinished state I've liked it better than any Windows I've used up until now.

Exactly. Me too.

The usual irrational fears always happen at new-version-time though.
Along with the moaning for the sake of moaning.

Huzzah for you early adopters! Bravely go where no sane person would go at all. :salute:
This. I'm always grateful to those who suffer so I don't have to. :D

Although so far, I've heard nothing but positive things from the early adopters. Looks like Microsoft's got it right this time around.

Except, of course, for how they're rolling out the upgrade. Dumping an app with unknown capabilities on everyone's computers without any warning wasn't exactly the brightest move. It'd also be nice if they provided more detailed info about what to expect when the upgrade happens. Really, your customers shouldn't have to rely on the rumor mill to find out how to obtain your product and what to expect when they do obtain it.

Your wish for more information is my command.

I get mine July 21st.

Finally getting internet explorer in it's grave has something to do with why this will be free for awhile.

Also, you will never be able to pirate windows 10-how
, I guess I'll find out in July.

I don't really need it that much since I'm trading up to Windows Surface 3 pro. You get hooked not having to worry about anti virus-root kits-ad and spyware or any other replicator/hijacker.

I've heard similar statements a lot of times. 100% of the time they have turned out to be wrong.

No, so long as you are willing to be a M$ guinea pig and suffer the inevitable bugs and virii that will infest Win10.
I'm never sure why people insist on this M$ thing in this day and age. Do you similarly write A₱₱le and A₫obe and so on for every software manufacturer who have the temerity to charge money for their software?

Anyway, yes, some people's Windows 10 machines will get viruses. Most often because they did something stupid. I would be willing to bet actual money that my Windows machine will not. And which operating system does not have bugs? Is there even any reason to believe that Windows will have measurably more than any comparable OS?

M$ shill.

:D

So if I have things from XP, will 10 be mostly compatible?

AFAIK it is just as compatible as Windows 7/8/8.1 which are not compatible with quite a bit of software that ran on Win XP and below. This was why they provided the XP Mode Virtual Machine in Win7 Pro. XP Mode was removed from Win8 and above so you need to roll your own XP in a virtual machine if you have some old software that is not compatible and want to use Win8/8.1/10.

Hm, okay, thanks. VM is probably the best bet anyway.

I don't have strong feelings about Flash in either direction, but I can't off the top of my head recall it having crashed once, let alone every day.

Please ship me your computer.
On my old XP one I use occasionally, it's guaranteed to crash as soon as I get more than two tabs open. And it crashed on the decent Win7 laptop just this morning. (This is on Chrome. YMMV)
