Will There Be Apology Headlines?

No, Tokie--you provided NOT ONE SINGLE EXAMPLE of what you claim nonetheless to have been consistent and pervasive examples of doom laden reports in these newspapers. Don't you think that if there really had been the concerted effort to talk down the economy that you claim that you could find one--just one--actual example to show us? The fact that you can't--the fact that all you do is name some well-known news outlets (as if that proved anything at all:confused:) is almost proof by itself that you were making all of this up out of whole cloth to begin with.

But please, prove me wrong--I've shown you how to use Google to find the relevant articles. It would take you all of five minutes effort. Please just find one.

LOL!

I provided much more than was provided to me by the poster harrumphing: "well...I certainly didn't hear or read that on NPR and my local far, far left-liberal newspaper!"

I don't see you taking that poster to task (or was it you? I don't recall).

Sorry you don't like that the sun rises in the east, and sorry that you don't understand that I don't need to provide "peer reviewed" papers proving same every time I say so.

It is what it is, and the left-advocacy media has been desperately trying to gin up econmic fears (with some success, by the way) amont Americans especially now that the war is being won. What else are libs going to hang their hat on?

Global Warming?

Let me explain it ve-e-e-ery slo-o-o-o-owly so that even a complete simpleton can understand.

You claimed that something happened. We claim it didn't. It isn't possible for us to give you "examples" of something "not happening." Only you can provide proof for your claim by giving us actual links to the articles which you claim to have seen.

If I give you a link to a NYTimes artlcle about Black Friday that doesn't sound alarmist, you'll just say "well, you just chose a non-alarmist one--there were plenty of alarmist ones besides that one." So, again: you have to provide actual links to actual articles (not just the names of newspapers and news channels) or you're just continuing to expose yourself as a liar and blowhard.

But, come on, Tokie--why don't you go find some links? Really? You claim that these reports were everywhere. It would take you five minutes to find just one of them, if they really were so prevalent. So, what's your problem? Oh, that's right--your problem is that they don't exist, that you made the whole thing up, that you've been exposed once again as a pointless troll. Yes, that really is a problem.

Hmmm....so when the report comes out that says the total spent on Black Friday was x, that was derived from foot traffic, and that we will learn later that in fact, that was a lie--a LIIIIIIEEEEEEE!!!!!--probably planted by the Bilderbergers or Illuminati, right?

And the 15%hike over last year for 'net sales...was that based on hits or something?

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say here - it seems that you are claiming the number (8%) you've been citing is the data for final sales, not an estimate. If that isn't what you meant to say, you really need to learn to write more clearly. The random caps stuff and tangents about Illuminati doesn't help.

Again, the 8% figure you kept citing was from ShopperTrak, and was not the final sales figures. It was an estimate based on foot traffic alone. You never cited any final sales figures for brick and mortar stores, and none of the sources you mentioned in passing did either, at least not when you claimed they did.

I have no idea whether how good their estimate was because I haven't seem final figures for brick and mortar. I'm more interested in the overall holiday volume anyway, but that's a different chestnut.

I never said anything about the online sales. Data collection for online sources is apparently easier (makes sense, as the data is more centralized, and the big retailers can easier report sales volume), as the figures reported are supposedly actual sales numbers, and they do look rather promising.

I never, not once, said that those online numbers were based on anything but actual sales data online. There is also data for the "Cyber Monday" marketing push as well - $733 million in sales, or something to that effect IIRC.

If you've got new data for the sales on Black Friday to brick and mortar stores, have at you. I've never claimed that sales were down from last year, or were really bleak or anything, so I'm not concerned about that.

However, for you to keep saying that the 8% figure you've been touting is the final sales numbers is incorrect. If that's not what you're saying, you really need to communicate more clearly.

Moreover, your assertions that the "liberal" media was "shrieking" about anything are ridiculous hyperbole, which is my main issue with what you're saying in the first place. You don't seem capable of analyzing any issues without turning them into silly liberal vs. conservative crapfests, so maybe I'm expecting too much.

You provided NOTHING. Or maybe you'll understand if I say NOOTTTTHHHHINNNGGGG!

Here's your quote to refresh you memory:
"expectations are for miserable, lousy, near-1930s levels for retail sales this Holiday season!!!"

What source were you paraphrasing?

Sorry you don't like that the sun rises in the east, and sorry that you don't understand that I don't need to provide "peer reviewed" papers proving same every time I say so.

No one asked for anything of the sort. You said something existed. Just show us where.

Now of course we all know you won't because you can't because you just made it up.

Trying to divert from the fact you made up something and the fact that you were called on it?
