Will the IRA terrorist become president of Ireland?

Why? Military leaders are elected to political positions all the time. Particularly insurgent military leaders who contributed to their state's independence.

It's an emotional response to seeing someone responsible for the murders of many innocent people not only never having to face justice but enjoying great success as a result of those murders.

It was a war... people die in wars. I am sure McGuinness and his friends feel much the same way about British and Northern Irish politicians.

all ********** up by the bankers and capitalists that are the EU.

("**********" only has six letters...why so many asterices?)

Um no. Those countries are in debt because the government spent money it didn't have.

The money was spendt by non socialist governments. like in greece, it is only now that the **** hits the fan that a socialist is in power, now you blame him for the disaster done by others? that is laughable and clueless.

Like I said. The government spent it.

So you think no one should have lent or should continue to lend Greece money?

There is certianly an argument to be made that at this point letting greece collapse would be the most honest thing for all concerned. It seems unlikely that greece will ever be able to pay of even it's current debt so classifying subsidy as loans appears pointless.

Certianly no one (or at least no one acting in their own self interest) should have lent greece money at such a low interest rate and to such an large extent but thats the problem with implicit guarantees.

And when will the all the murderers, rapists, etc among the Orangemen and other Protestant groups and the torturers of the British military presence face justice?

The only reason for the Troubles was and is the stubborn British insistence as a sop to national pride to hold on to the last tiny scrap of their Empire at all costs.

It was not a war it was terrorism that aside it's an "And?"

Generally speaking, when one nation invades another militarily, then forcibly colonizes it and spends 100s of years oppressing it's people it's considered an act of war.

The British invaded Ireland and the Irish had and have every right to do whatever they can to drive said invaders out.

Why do you think I am only condemning one side of the terrorism?

This Irishman got that impression myself based on your opening post. Think "terrorist" ascension into political positions is just confined to the IRA or those that oppose the concept of the United Kingdom including 'Northern Ireland?'

The Irish Republic could of done more to support those that oppose the above and, sympathies aside, have actually worked with the British to curtail terrorism north of their border. That's more than most in their kicked-around shoes would do. My advice, quit while you're ahead.

No idea how you got that impression but it was wrong, my post was about a known terrorist who was trying to get elected to the presidency, why it should include comments about other terrorist in similar situations and so on is beyond me.

Really? There are no actions the IRA carried out that you think went beyond ethical boundaries?
