I'll admit that I was genuinely surprised that they produced nothing. I had my money on one of your other options -- petty crap with associated spin. At least that wouldn't have been a joke and Wikileaks would have something to show for the hype.

I'm reminded of Ken Starr's periodic announcements that he was about to make an announcement which would blow the whole Whitewater scandal wide open. Followed, of course, by nothing.

Well, those wishing to get themselves certified as true doomsdayers and certified seers usually then kill themselves. Not suggesting anything, but do hope that Roger Stone and Alex Jones are reading this thread.
 
The timing was wrong anyway. You're supposed to time it the way Gore did against Bush: a few days before the election, so the sudden temporary dip in the opponent's image hits on election day and the return to normal a few days later doesn't matter, not weeks ahead of time so the dip has time to flatten back out again before the election.

IMHO people have made up their minds about Clinton and the Benghazi mess a long time ago,and new revelations,unless they really are of the smoking gun variety won't matter.
But it is the biggest "Wow,that's it? All this fuss for that?" since Geraldo opened Al Capone's vault and it had the equivalent of a sack lunch in it.i

I miss Peacecrusader too. I know there are other leak organizations out there. Kind of surprised that no one has taken the leak-king crown from Assange with his decline into irrelevancy.

In a normal election I actually think some of this stuff would be pretty damaging.

Politicians need a private position as well as a public position?

That may even be true but saying it out loud is probably a very bad idea.

However, it got stomped thoroughly by "grab them by the pussy".

Still, the one ironclad rule with the media is that the story always has to change. So this stuff will probably come to the forefront once the initial interest in that Trump tape starts to fade and the media needs something new to talk about. The media also doesn't want anyone to think that it's over already so if it starts to look like a blowout they will start looking for anti-Clinton angles.
