wierd/ dumb WTC theory

Prior to Giuliani NYC didn't have OEM - it was the 1995 Sarin nerve gas incident in Tokyo
subway which prompted him to form OEM to coordinate response. Question was where
to base it. There were 2 options - WTC 7 or Brooklyn. City Hall and mayor's residence
are in southern Manhattanand was concern that in emergency could not get over to
OEM in Brooklyn. WTC 7 was in easy reach of city hall, could even be walked. 23th
floor was out of reach of any anticipated flooding from storms or hurricanes. After 9/11
was moved to Brooklyn.

I think it was all a plot to destroy the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox church to cover the Knights Templar's theft of the artifact secretly stored there since WW-II; The Holy Grail.

No, I think it was an attempt to split reality. It was the big boys at work. God and Son against Satan.

Let's see now, those are two twin towers, ( God and Son ) and a Satan character that is often represented by the Pentacle symbol.

Perhaps the actions within their huge minds actually echoed in the fabric of reality itself. Hence, the Twin towers ( two buildings ), the pentacle ( the pentagon ) were all hit.

I bet Satan was trying to create a new and huge Adam, and a new and huge Eve.
Maybe Adam, due to his immense size, would have to bite a very big apple indeed.
Where is the big apple ?
Isn't that New York ?

What does NEW YORK equal when using English Gematria ?
I remember now, NEW YORK = 666.

But on the other hand, something as crazy as that would trigger all sorts of unanswered questions and speculations, due to it being far from the norm, so far from the norm that the truth of it would not be seen at all, but only the remnants of it would be apparent and raise questions.

Thus the truth would just be laughed at.

Prior to 9/11 it was expected that terrorists would use a car bomb because that's what they had done in the past. If a car bomb went off at the base of WTC1 or WTC2 then having OEM where it was would have been advantageous. It would have been close enough to allow close communication with first responders, but far enough away to be safe. It had an access ramp to the WTC garage and was just across the street from a subway station and a PATH station. It was also co-located over an important electrical substation.

So WTC7 was good location for the OEM if the expected type of terrorist attacks happened but a dumb location for the suicide hijacked airliners that unfortunately actually did happen.

Seems to me that the ideal OEM would be so located that the government could operate from either City Hall or the bunker. A major catastrophe would put both out simultaneously if they were too close together. The least he could have done would have been to put it at the opposite side of Central Park. Wouldn't that be an excellant staging area for air evacuations, air delivery of supplies, deployment of response teams from a central location?

There is just no sense that I can see in locating that close to the river and in the middle of easily-clogged streets with no shortcut out of there. The financial center is just the most logical target for terroirists, and a tsunami would have left them isolated, if the building survived. Emergency command centers should be located inland when they are meant to protect a penninsula.

Considering the way the streets are congested in NYC having to travel too far from City Hall could become nearly impossible in any situation where people are panicking and evacuating.

Frankly I think no matter where you choose to put the OEM there would be severe liabilities to that location. Probably the only sure thing to do would be to have multiple OEM offices but that would cost more money.

One on either side of Central Park would be better than one in Brooklyn from the traffic congestion angle. Motorcycles at both sites would be good enough, I should think, if the streets became impassible. Keep the two in communication, with redundancy of files. That should go without saying. Apparently, all the critics in the video had problems about the lack of redunancy. I would suspect that Rudy was thinking that he would have access to the resources of botth the OEM and City Hall when it hit the fan. Both should be able to stand alone and not be simultaneously vulnerable to one strike with anything sort of a strategic nuke.

Ask yourself where you would want to be in the sort of disaster NYC could have expected?
Where the OEM now is, and where Giuliani's advisors originally wanted it: in Brooklyn, in a low, protected building, well above sea level, with no tall buildings around it, away from forseeable terrorist targets but easily accessible from and to Manhattan.

In a building on a substation and full of emergency power generation equipment doesn't sound like a bad place.
Over a substation: very bad idea. Emergency generators: essential no matter where the center is located.

You would not want to be below grade because the disaster might be a flood down the Hudson or a tsunami.
You'll find that most emergency bunkers are below grade. If flooding is a concern, don't put it in lower Manhattan.

You'd want it to be a mechanically strong building because the disaster might be an earthquake or a hurricane.
Honestly, Ben, in which would you rather be during an earthquake or hurricane: a low building or underground bunker of reinforced concrete, with no tall buildings around, or on the 23rd floor of a steel and glass skyscraper, next to two quarter-mile-high buildings?

You'd prefer being able to look out a window and at least see some of the city.
You do not want windows in a center that needs to survive a terrorist attack. The OEM EOC was an interior room, windowless, with Kevlar-lined walls.

You'd want to be convenient to transportation. You'd want to be where there was a plaza of sufficient size to land a helicopter.
None of which restricts you to Manhattan.

A purpose-built structure with reasonably good escape routes and easy access in the worst-case utilities failure is never a bad idea, either.

Hmm - have to tell our mayor to move the OEM HQ. Is in basement of municipal building
foundation of which is blasted into solid basalt of ancient lava flow. Bad news is only
few yards uphill from Passaic River which regularly floods. Also underneath Interstate
80 highway bridge over Passaic River - problem in case of haz mat incident.

Gravy : Do you mean all them OEM guys do all day is watch TV? How does one get a
job like that?

In the tallest building I could find, Gravy!

A building has a resonant frequency. Buildings lower than ten floors will vibrate with the earth. Tall buildings do not usually have resonant frequencies that allow that.

And in a hurricane, the wind is not the issue usually so much as storm surge and propelled debris. Up on the 22nd floor neither are an issue.

But since terrorism is the main concern it becomes the tallest target you can find. The fact is the professionals who do this for a living wanted it in Brooklyn. As you can see they were right and he was wrong.

that sounds like hindsight again, was terrorism the main concern pre-9/11?

either way, i fail to how "he was wrong about it being a good OEM, therefore his primary motive must have been a convenient love shack" is not a false dichotomy

We have similar issues with our local EOC's. Nuclear power plant, I 95 etc.

Here they have mobile back ups that can be up and running in minutes if the main center in disabled. There are also backup locations that can be converted should the need arise.

The one's my wife has worked in the TV is usually on 24/7.

He could of built it in those vaults Jeremy Irons stole the gold out of in Die hard III.

I can't hate the guy for the command center fiasco, I hate him for killing off a lot of the small music venues with the draconian cabaret laws.
