WI Gov. Scott Walker implicated in criminal probe

From Obama's Master Lock speech today:

That sounds a lot like Walker's tax break for companies that relocate to Wisconsin.
Except when Walker does it, it's "tax giveaways to his rich friends".

That is exactly what I thought when I read the state of the union address.

When someone says "hooray for that nasty little man being implicated in it," that doesn't support your theory in the least.

In fact, all it does is expose the cheering for what it was: one partisan cheering for the possible downfall of another.

I don't like sleazy, nasty people.

The governor of wisconsin is such a person.

I am delighted that he is getting caught up in a tangle of corruption. I doubt that he is innocent in this regard and, if he is guilty, look forward to him receiving some justice.

Your statements are disingenuous and your misunderstandings are deliberate.

So, if this goes anywhere, and it turns out Walker did do something wrong, how soon before Fox News "accidentally" puts a "(D)" after his name?

I wonder if the people who decided it should be a felony in Wisconsin think it should also be a felony for POTUS.
If it were and Obama broke the law I would support his prosecution. Do you support the prosecution of people who break the law?

If you're one of the people listed in the complaint, then you're implicated. This much is clear. If you want to argue something, argue whether the complaint has any validity. This is too small of a nitpick to base your argument on.

There is never too much of a nitpick for Wildcat (note I must state I base that only on those threads I have read where Wc's interests are counter to the threads direction).

Of course. Break the law, go to jail.

I'm just saying that in the context of the President's schedule for 2/16/2012, it's not at all clear to me why this particular law should be in place at all, or why anybody should be so frothy about it.

ETA: BenBurch has already said that he's content to wait and see what comes of this complaint. Maybe it's the tip of a big RICO iceberg that will bring Walker and all his ilk low. Maybe not. While we wait, why not discuss related issues? It's a law for Wisconsin; is it a good law? Is a felony really appropriate? Why not a misdemeanor? If it's a good law for Wisconsin, should it be a good law at the federal level? Should it be a felony for the President to collect his salary while soliciting campaign donations? Is it appropriate for him to use the resources of the Presidency to facilitate his campaign activities? If it's appropriate for the President, why not the executive of whatever county in Wisconsin?

Fair enough. Thanks.

Break even a bad law as anybody, and you should go to jail. Even Dr. King agreed with this (though many OWS protestors seem not to).

Would you consider this to be a bad law?

Well, having seen public employees abused and made to serve as political operatives, no I do not think it is a bad law. Unless you want machine politics, that is.

For a little perspective though, this is our mayor:

One thing I will say about Walker is that I am generally against his anti-Union stance, at the state level anyway, most of the union shops around my city are either closed, been closed for years, moved to another state, or laid off a massive chunk of their workforce and switched to a non-union model with the union guys retiring in less than 15 years. This is in manufacturing BTW

All of the mainstream Wisconsin news media seem to have missed this earth-shaking story of how Walker is implicated in criminal activity.

Scooped by Brad Blog! I bet they're just too embarrassed to admit it, that's why they're all silent even after Brad Blog broke the story.

That is a BS argument, theprestige, and you know it.

Why is this so different from the President spending the day campaigning. I am always amazed at how much time incumbants spend campaigning when there is so much work
