Wi-Fi: A Threat to the Species?

I considered posting this to the thread, "Jim Fetzer & Conspiracies" but since this is new, it deserves its own thread.

The latest threat:

WiFi — An invisible but ubiquitous threat to the species

Today I conducted one of the most disturbing radio interviews of my life as host of “The Real Deal”, with a British physicist and electronic warfare expert, Barrie Trower.

By the time he had finished his service in the military, Barrie had acquired a great deal of expertise in the microwave field and he extended his research to common electronic systems, including cell phones, iPods, computer games and microwave ovens.

He was appalled to discover that microwave radiation is ubiquitous and extremely hazardous, especially to pregnant women and young children. The risks are so great that the use of WiFi, which is enormously popular, can lead to permanent genetic damage to your children and your children’s children.

It seems that Mr. Trower has been warning us of these dangers since at least 2005:

I predicted the illnesses, which the officers now complain of.
I predicted the illness’s the residents now complain of.
These are illness’s that occurred before my report was published and cannot be psychosomatic.

At a conference in Birmingham I said “ This Government, Industry and Government Scientists will be responsible for more deaths (of civilians) in peace time than all the terrorist organizations ever.” The evidence I have is showing this is correct. I put my money where my mouth is and stand my ground.

And yet, in all these years, Mr. Trower seems to have gotten only one mention on JREF:

Instead of getting his "work" peer-reviewed and published in a respectable journal, Niels Harrit is speaking at the Open Mind Conference 2012 in Denmark alongside a bunch of other nutjob nobodies.

A number of highly-esteemed lecturers will be providing their services free of charge. These include Anders Sultan, Barrie Trower, Bill Still, Birgitta Jonsdottir, Carsten Vagn-Hansen, Desireé Röver, Frank Rasmussen, Ian Crane, Manfred Petritsch, Niels Harrit, Rasmus Foldbjerg, Scott Tips, Terry Boardman and Vithus Hartz.

I'm happy to be doing my small part to rectify this injustice. Bravo, Dr. Fetzer! :boggled:

As I said, Fetzer doesn't appear to have any usable scientific knowledge of his own. He simply adds his academic (rubber) stamp of approval to whatever nonsense is out there.

Trower is a middle-school teacher with no educational credentials in physics and no verifiable experience in, as he claims, electronic warfare. His beliefs regarding wifi are admittedly based on junk science.

Of course microwave radiation is "ubiquitous"; the universe is rather full of it.

Loved this part:

Can't be too hard to predict something that occurred before your prediction, I imagine.

Yeah, the post-diction really jumps out at you, but on the "Is he qualified/competent?" issue, I have to wonder what sort of "physicist and electronic warfare" specialist would be "appalled to discover that microwave radiation is ubiquitous". I'd sort of expect everyone with any physics training at all to have known that almost from the start of their education. What was he doing for all those years that he only "discovered" this after he "extended his research to common electronic systems"?

I followed the link. That site is a brain hurter. But at least it is not an eyesore like so many other sites.

In my usual tactic of initially judging a publication by its advertisers, I was intrigued by the prominent placement for the "VA Approved" Tattoo School at Austin's School of Spa Technology.

Quite a coup for a prestigious "Military and Foreign Affairs Journal" that is "The True Voice of the World's Clandestine Community."

Maybe the schools is merely a front for some other business. Some business that people in-the-know and other clandestiners are already aware of.

then again, maybe I am spending too much time in the conspiracy sub-forum.

My suspicion with companies that prominently feature pre-approval for government subsidized education is that they are a front for fleecing the government out of said subsidies via the student. OTOH, tattooing is a trade and art that has to be learned, so a school is a good idea.

Then there is the fact if Exposure to Microwave Radiation at close range really did cause genetic damage, I thin, with Microwave ovens having been in common use for 30 Years,we have seen a lot more signs of it now....

The entire time I worked for a major telecommunications manufacturer, we had no death, illness, or disfigurement due to RF that I can recall. We had a richer RF environment across a broad spectrum, in our manufacturing facilities, than you will find nearly anywhere. And yes, that included WiFi freq. Our radio system staging facility had broadcasts in all bands, commercial and government. We had to have a special database to detangle interference issues between different radio systems. You had a higher threat from lead in solder, until ROHS compliance came along.

Yes. Absurdly inflated credentials are a hallmark of crackpots.

I teach advanced physics and mathematics at South Dartmoor College.

Sounds much more impressive than "I'm a high school science teacher", doesn't it?

See also Fetzer's Sandy Hook friend, Wolfgang Halbig, whose experience 40 years ago with the Florida State Troopers supposedly gives him credibility in detecting a complex conspiracy to fake the murder of 26 women and children. Not one conspiracist has asked him what he did as a Florida State Trooper. Was he a homicide investigator, or was he handing out traffic tickets and hanging out in donut shops?

Not exactly the most technical school either.

South Dartmoor Community College is an Academy with specialist focus on Expressive Arts and Sports.

We have over 1,500 enrolled students, including over 300 in our Sixth Form.
Sixth form is the equivalent of the last 2 years of high school in America.

At the risk of going off on a tangent, I'd like to point out that this a good example of the americanization of the English language in the UK, viz. using "students" instead of "pupils". I remember a radio interview with some head teacher on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme (I don't remember just what it was about, but it involved one of her school's pupils engaging in criminal activity). She kept on using the word "students". The BBC interviewer kept on correctly using "pupils". It was quite amusing, two people talking about the exact same bunch of underage people, but insisting on using different words.

Okay, I give - why are these words not synonyms?

But only for the past 14 billion years.

Math, science , history, unraveling the mystery that all started with a big bang,,, BANG!

Seriously now, telecommunications has been using microwave towers for 50+ years.
Satellite communications in the 4-12Ghz range increased greatly beginning about 1985. UHF television in use since the fifties/sixties has actually experienced a lessening of power output since over the air TV went digital. Microwave oven doors are actually more safe now than a decade ago.
In the 1980s there was a great pseudoscience outcry about the health effects of nonionizing radiation.

I made similar predictions this year. I predict ongoing instability in Iraq as a result of the US led toppling of the Hussien regime. I predict ongoing instability in Syria following this year's rebellion. I predict ongoing friction and missile and bombing attacks between Hama's and Israel due to decades of that very thing happening.

I cannot find a bio of his education that is any more specific than
My first degree is in Physics (I specialised in microwaves)
My second degree is a research degree.
I have a teaching diploma in human physiology.
I teach advanced physics and mathematics at South Dartmoor College.

So, where did he earn these degrees? What level is his degree in physics, Bachelor, Masters, Doctorate? He "specialized" in microwaves suggests greater than Bachelor level.
What is a "research degree"?

 Back in my secondary days (nigh on thirty years ago) 'student' was generally used in Ireland.
