Why vegans are simply better people

So I take it the consensus in this thread is now not to discuss veganism rather to mock people whose lifestyle choices we don't understand? Good to see the thread has reached its natural nadir
Why would you take that consensus ?

There are well over a thousand posts in this thread, and very few could be interpreted as mocking, unless you just think people who disagree with you are mocking ..

You're wrong there. Veganism is easy to understand. Disagreement is not mocking.

I think I understand the vegan lifestyle choice better now than before participating in this thread. This about sums it up:

What has any of this got to do with being vegan?

Are you saying that vegans are incapable of eating to excess and getting fat?
Are you saying that it's impossible to consume animal products in any quantity without harming your health?
Are you saying that all sources of animal products are inherently grotesquely cruel and inhumane?

What exactly are you trying to say?

Please, provide an argument to support the title of this thread.

first answer...no
second answer no, you can consume animal products in modest amounts and not harm your health... very very few people do and are just as disciplined as a vegan usually
third answer..of course not..

purpose of thread....your doing the purpose of the thread right now.

Is the arrogance, smugness, rudeness and lack of understanding of others common to all vegans, or is it just you? Either way, your assertion that vegans in general are "better people" appears to be debunked by your own post.

I speak for myself as you do. Your reply is quite rude.

I'd rather spend time around people who don't dehumanize other people based on their physical appearance and bad habits. This makes them "better" than you, OP, if you want to seriously make such arbitrary lines in the sand. Your opinions disgust me. I think you only champion these views to derive and buffer your sense of superiority. And you dare to call out others for a lack of empathy,...

I have empathy for an animal bought to this life and denied freedom to run and freedom to have a chance for fullfillment.

I have no empathy for a life who abuses others with no remorse. I have no empathy for a life that choses to be selfish to the point of obesity.

Life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on...

You're not special. Humans are not special or separate from nature in any way. It's impossible to live without killing vast numbers of other organisms. The rodents killed by combine harvesters are more intelligent than cows and chickens.

There's no health benefit to a vegan diet vs a vegetarian or mostly vegetarian diet. The only "benefit" is ideological smugness.

Animal "rights" groups probably do more overall harm than good, by alienating the general public and reinforcing the idea that conservationists are all emotionally-driven smug vegan hippies. They deter people from helping out with sane environmental causes due to fear of association. PETA soaks up donations that would otherwise be going to shelters, research, and real conservation projects, and spends them all on troll-tier advertising, keeping their wiki page free of criticism, and insulin for their president, while not actually doing anything to help animals or the environment.

I have empathy for a pig, kept crowded in a growing faciility, never breathing fresh air, never getting the chance to run or to breed. Knowing nothing but fear his entire life. I have empathy for this pig.

But the pig has no empathy for me. He has no empathy for the other pigs who are being equally tortured their entire lives until they die a horrific death at the slaughter house. The pig is a pig. Animals lower than us on the evolutionary scale lack compassion. But never forget, some of us have it and that is what makes us human.

You find it silly to have empathy for the suffering of food animals. You lack such empathy.

It seems you and a pig have alot in common

My mother smoked for 30 years, I never smoked. She was a better person than I could ever hope to be. Your "beliefs" are nothing other than a pathetic attempt at self-aggrandizing, of which few on this forum agree. Start your own website, Iambetterthanyou.com. Having fun with that.

I love testimonials

And you developed this empathy when? When you became a vegan less than 6 months ago?

I have no empathy for a life who abuses others with no remorse. I have no empathy for a life that choses to be selfish to the point of obesity.

So you have no empathy for the sort of life you yourself were for over half a century of your own life before you discovered veganism a few short months ago?

Bretheren, rebuttals, overindulgent. It's difficult to take your opinions seriously when you can't even spell. I weigh a svelte, carnivorous 110 lbs. I'm fifty nine years old and still have the same waist size i had as a teenager.

If you have eaten the standard American or european diet all your life, then it is a guarantee that you have cardiovascular disease. Alot of thin meat eaters have died a many myocardial infarction.

Get this and don't forget it. SAD, the standard american diet of eating meat, fried foods, sugars etc...is the cause of cardiovascular disease. Get it and don't forget it.

Just reading back through the posts and saw this one. Sums up the OP, which established the tone for the rest of this thread, perfectly.

No, the thread title has nothing to do with the health of meat eating, the title is "Why Vegans Are Simply Better People." The poster then made a list of possible reasons why smokers smoke. He/she then chose, for no reason other than it suits his/her following statement, the worst possible reason that smokers smoke, to support his/her own assertion that non smokers are better people than smokers. Then moved on to the same ridiculous tactic to prove that vegans are better people. This goes far beyond a bad choice of words to make a good point.

Since I am the OP, I can state quite honestly, that yes the thread had nothing to do with the title as it did about the dangers of too much meat.

Removed breach of rule 0.

This post was about animal rights and the fact that meat and oil have now been found to be the very cause of cardiovascular disease. This post did exactly what I had hoped and more.

Hope some of you read the link.

peace out.

great detective work sherlock, yet I never stated I was in my mid 30's. It was a forum mix up, but anyway, glad to see you have all this time on your hands.

Your inability to competently use the quote function led to some confusion. I apologize.

We've now established that you were indeed the non-empathetic sort of life you now have no empathy for for over half a century of your life. We've also established that you've only been a empathetic vegan for a few short months now.

Thank you for setting the record straight. We do like to get our facts straight here.
