Really? That's interesting. Never having been around Muslims for any significant amount of time, my knowledge of Muslims, and Islam only comes from reading rather than actual personal interaction. One gets the impression that alcohol is something that is absolutely forbidden in Islam, and that countries that are predominantly Muslim don't even have, or allow liquor stores.
Is it a matter of "fudging" a bit and consuming alcohol once in awhile even though it's not permitted, or does Islam allow for the consumption alcohol in certain situations or circumstances?

Some are alcohol free, like Libya and Saudi. Some have little to no restrictions on alchohol. I can go to Dubai and get rat arsed in a bar and buy alcohol from a special off license. However, there is still alcohol available in those dry countries. It takes about 4 hours to get across the causeway from Saudi to Bahrain at the weekend cause Bahrain has alcohol and the Saudis flee there at the wekends to get rat arsed.
Unfortunately the ignorant liars in the TM would like people to remain in the dark about what it is really like in the muslim countries cause it destroys most of their arguments. You find the bigots all the time trying to portray all countries as being countries where women must wear the burqa at all times when in reality it is very few out of the muslim countries around the world where the women cover their face all the time, if at all.
Most of the Saudis I have worked with who looked at the 911 CT stuff thought it was hilarious and laughed at the morons pushing the CT's.
