Why some people use homeopathy

I have a little anecdote for you. As a child growing up I had a couple of headaches. Each time my father would give me aspirin and each time the headache went away after 30 minutes. When I moved out of my fathers house I had a headache but no aspirin so I went to the store bought some aspirin and came home to take it only to find that by the time I got home the headache was gone. The next time I had a headache I had sex and it went away. So there you go sex cures headaches. Actually what both of these document is an association and the question "was the treatment effective?" cannot be addressed without controlled scientific studies.

Now you just need something to cure that stomach ulcer...

I would suggest that lemon juice works because you think it will. Perhaps the first time you tried it, the hiccups went away by coincidence.

The interesting thing about the bribery method is that it works because you don't want it to. Subtle difference, but the other side of the same coin.
