Seasonally Disaffected
Obama will bend over and give the gays everything they want.
You don't have to bend over to treat everyone fairly. You gotta bend way over backwards to keep excluding people from equal rights and protections.
Obama will bend over and give the gays everything they want.
Except that the Nader vote made the difference between Gore winning Florida vs Bush winning Florida. We got eight years of W instead.
I also like the fact that Obama doesn't always wear neckties.
Since the POTUS is also Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces during time of war, and Obama has done far better in that role than had his predecessor, and all of his challengers for the ofice advocate some of the most hideously barbaric practices initiated under that predecessor, I must, as an old soldier, fully endorse Obama.
Obama is by far the best CinC that we have had for some time.
As a working man, I have to favor a POTUS who will favor the interests of labor over those of capital.
As an environmentalist, I must favor a POTUS who will not sacrifice the environment for quick profit.
I definitely prefer a POTUS who realizes that government is an instrument for social engineering, rather than a commercial operation.
The constitution gives the federal government authority to regulate how companies do business across state lines. It says nothing about who may bump fuzzies with whom. In this matter, Obama knows his palce. Government has busines in the boardroom, not the bedroom.
This sums up why I think I'll be voting for Obama. In the end I will probably vote for Obama for the same reasons I did in 2008:
He seems to be the only candidate that gives a damn about Americans with no health insurance.
He seems keen to rebuilding our infrastructure.
He wants to focus on defeating Al Qaeda.
He seems to be the only candidate that doesn't think gay people are not human.
He seems to understand that diversifying our energy supply is important.
And maybe this time he'll actually accomplish his goals if the Republicans would stop being so obstructive and needlessly mean/cruel.
This sums up why I think I'll be voting for Obama.
I also hope now that he doesn't have to worry about being reelected he'll actually do some more things the Republicans won't like.
I hope that the General Public realizes just how hamstrung they left Obama and gives him a Congress he can actually get **** done with.
Lousy voters! They can't do anything right.
I think he's referencing Mitt Romney's use of that KKK slogan in his campaign. For some people, that's a pretty shocking thing. Apparently you don't know that Romney used a KKK slogan, or if you do, you think it's nothing to be concerned about.
Which concerns me.
I understand what you're saying and from a "moral" perspective, somewhat agree. However, given the choice of, for example, 3 candidates:
1 - I disagree with 90% of the time
2 - I disagree with 50% of the time
3 - I agree with 90% of the time.
If #3 has no chance in hell of winning, I'm voting for the second one.
I've been down the road of voting for a 3rd party candidate and concluded I really was helping the guy I hated the most win. It turned out no matter how much I said, "but I voted for #3", I still had to deal with that 90% crap.
Having to live with that reality ended up trumping my pride and ego.
I have deeply regretted that vote since.
.Lousy voters! They can't do anything right.
Buyer's remorse has struck big time. See Wisconsin. So you believe the General Public wants the obstructionist Gov't they have now?
So you believe the General Public wants the obstructionist Gov't they have now?
the Nader vote made the difference between Gore winning Florida vs Bush winning Florida.
I read a lot a statements saying, "I want them to compromise and get stuff done." But that never comes with the phrase, "See, you can sacrifice my sacred cows first."
So you believe the General Public wants the obstructionist Gov't they have now?
Yes they do.
There are plenty of threads about the Republican nominees and their various faults/issues/reasons to not be elected.
Why should Obama be reelected? Without mentioning any Republican nominee tell me why should Obama serve another term. What do you hope he accomplishes in his next term?
