Lesbians are awesome. And if God frowns on a little man-love, why did he make Christian Bale so damn hot?
 
a question for the historically well informed....what is the history of homophobia? What was the Egyptian or Sumerian/Babalonian or ancient chinese view? when did homophobia become widespread? what levels of tolerance have been exhibited throughout history? how have attititudes differed across different cultures and different religions? Is homophobia a constant exhibit of religions throughout the world, or rooted in abrahamic monothesism?

i'm homo curious ;)

Homophobia has been the norm since Adam and Eve failed to have a daughter.

In some cultures, same sex play is something you do, or an appetite one sates now and again, rather than what one is. The nuances between pitching and catching vary with norms, place, and time.

The two most interesting bits I've encountered on this matter of social place of such preferences is in an article a few months back in Atlantic Monthly on the underground homosexual culture in Saudi Arabia, and a number of commentaries and personal anecdotes regarding conetmporary Afghan warlords at their catamites.

Germanic tribesmen were disgusted by Roman legionnaires who committed homosexual acts, and would put them to death just for that.

Homosexuality in most sub-Saharan Africa was seen as a violation of social consensus and therefore very wrong (the why is a bit complicated) for centuries, way before Christianity or Islam arrived.
 
Just about all of you took the words right out of my mouth -- it isn't wrong, period. Moreover, most mammals exhibit this behavior. And given our exponential population growth and the many unwanted children all over the world, it may even be part of the solution to some of the problems we've created on our planet in the last few centuries or so.

Who cares what the bible says about homosexuality? Certainly the bible not a reliable source of information about, well, anything.
