Why Bulldoze the Settlements?

Whats up wit dat?

Why not let the buildings remain for future use. It seems like such a waste to knock them down. Whats the reasoning?

Harder to come back to a bulldozed home and refuse to leave.

Israel has to dismantle the homes, synagogues and dig up the settlers cemeteries to rebury the dead elsewhere. The reasoning is the PA refuses to pay for the houses and desire to use the land to make way for high rise housing.

I suspect the evicted settlers might feel even worse if they knew that Palestinians were living in their actual homes. So if the PA wants to build a different type of housing, maybe it's all for the best.

I read recently that the UAE is financing new Palestinian housing in the Gaza Strip. The Jewish housing now there is unsuitable to high-density living, as the Palestinians are used to. The 'villas' of the settlers are just not appropriate for a typical Arab family.
This article dated 1999 shows a long-standing relationship with the Palestinians by that Gulf state.

The same principle that has been applied since 1948. Actually a lot longer than that - when the Highlands were cleared the villages were destroyed, and just look at what's happened to Jerusalem a time or two.
