Why are we in Haiti?

OK Just asking
Why are we in Haiti and what are trying to accomplish?

The population is some 7.5 million with a realized AIDS population at 225,000-500,000, has no natural resources , including the ability to feed itself, has had a revolving door irresponsible government of despots since 1900, provides no exports , has no tactical or geopolitical value. So as far as I can see is that our involvement is humanitarian in nature ( when we have people in need at home).

Please someone explain this to me.

For the same reason we're in Iraq: because we love democracy. Now if only the blame-America-first crowd would shut the f*ck up.

You answered your own question.

Well as You pointed out it was a self realized conclusion, but my question goes rather deeper. Can You offer justification for our stance?

Did you take any tanks? Bombs? Rocket launchers? Apache gunships? Tens of thousands of troops ready to charge across the country? Go without a UN mandate? No?

Guess I'll shut the f*ck up then. :)

From what we have been able to glean from this action and other recent ones, the actual reason is not a vital part of the operation, nor what it is hoped will be achieved.
