Who will replace Bill O'Reilly?

HarryKeogh said:
But Fox would never hire a Lehrer to fill that slot because they aren't "fair and balanced" (not that any other news organizations are either, you won't see PBS or NPR hiring Ann Coulter)
Stranger things have happened. What red-blooded Red Sox fan could have imagined that their pride and joy, Roger Clemens, would someday pitch for the hated Yankees? Where there's money, there's a way.
Unless there is some tape recordings that are very graphic I think O'Reilly will be keeping his job, he's a cash cow for that network.
Agree. Bob Barker is still shilling The Price is Right ten years after his sexual harrassment suit.

But it's fun to speculate.

Problem is that if Lehrer did his show the same as the PBS show, liberals would be just as likely to watch the show and see FOX is a different light. If he suddenly became a right wing sock-puppet this would become obvious and for the most part liberals wouldn't care, except to shake their collective heads over what a whore Lehrer turned out to be...

Just like what most Sox fans think of Clemens... Although that has more to do with Clemens being out of shape and stinking up the joint his last few years in Boston, then once he signed with Toronto for more dough he remembered what a sit-up is and laid off the doughnuts and made a huge comeback...

Hello Rob (and a few others),

You seem to know quite a bit about what's going on in O'Reilley's personal involvements (from some of the posted comments) ... perhaps you can clue us all in on this recent legal case as well as his relations with his family. Then you can forcast with precision paranormal certainty as to the outcomes from all of the above.

Thank you.

OK -- it's a joke -- but let's be objective here; none of us know what's really going on.

Well, let's see.

I've read the original complaint, made public by the first party.

I've read the countersuit, made public by the second party.

Based upon this, I formed a working opinion. I've expressed that opinion, and phrased it as such.

If either party brings more data to light, or if you have something to add that is factual or logical, I'll read it with interest and possibly alter my opinion.

I don't see how I could be anymore objective.

Besides, I find her to be most unattractive. Not Ann Coulter ugly, but her face is just bizarre.
Yes, even after her face lift. And she talks out of just one side of her mouth.

I think they should completely switch gears and get someone like Rachael Ray from the Food Network ...
Now that's funny! She's a damn good TV chef, and I'd love to find out how her cute-and-perky-on-hyperdrive personna would work within the Fox News lineup.

She did that before the surgery. I've never much cared for her, but she won my grudging respect during Marion ("He's Back Again, Like a Bounced Check") Barry's cocaine bust trial. While everyone, myself included, was saying what a slam-dunk this trial was - they had the man on tape with a coke pipe, fer petesake! - Greta, who was the local CBS affiliate's legal expert at the time, kept saying this case was really pretty shakey.

And lo and behold, Mayor Cokehead got off! Everyone in DC was stunned and dismayed, or stunned and delighted. Except for Greta.

Yeah, eww. I'll just picture Bill O'reilly in the shower next time I need to, um, set the flame on 'simmer'.

Well, I read what I could find on the internet and really couldn't get too many details --- can you please direct me to the info you have come across ?? (Actually it looks more like a disgruntled employee, but that's simply an opinion.)

Also, how do you know how his wife will react --- assuming the accusations are true and accurate? Look at Bill Clinton's wife after what happened to him --- they're still legally married, no?

This part is almost Lynne Cheney good.

I am pretty sure this girl has a nice tape collection.

Thanks Thrombus29,

If anyone believes more than 1% of that allegation (and then doubts Uri) I would be most surprised. That piece (from page 1) is obviously spiced up by her legal team to the 9s, and it reads like some trash romance novel -- and remember, that's only her story, nothing from the other half. I'll wait and see what comes from the legal outcome before I start casting huge boulders. I am also interested in the "taped" phone calls as released from the courts.

Last first: I don't know how his wife will react. I know how MY wife would react.

First last: It appears you've been informed. Please note that in his suit against her he did not, in any way, deny the allegations. He even went so far as to off-handedly imply that she recorded conversations. He's pissed that she wants 64m.

If you think it appears to be an attempt to discredit/extort: I agree.

If you think it appears as if she set him up: I agree.

If you think the allegations are groundless: I disagree.

Remind anyone of Michael Jackson's case? My own opinion is that the same thing's going on here: an extortion attempt for hush money over a committed misdeed backfires.

I think it's a little like that. We'll see if it backfires.

B.O'R did handle it well, though. He went on the offensive.

Oddly (although not oddly at all) he had to enter the high-velocity spin zone to do it.

Kobe Bryant's wife got a $9M diamond, Hillary got to remain married to the president of the US.

Ha! I don't know your song! I win! Argument from Ignorance!!

Hire Jim Lehrer away from PBS for some jawdropping salary, then laugh all the way to the bank while the lefites foam at the mouth trying to claim Fox still isn't "fair and balanced."

If Fox started hiring more Liberals, it might become fair and balanced. Your snide remark doesn't make any sense.
