Is the 9-9-9 plan 50% more evil than a 6-6-6 plan?
I'm a great fan of whenever Cain says 'My 9-9-9 plan' in that Georgian accent.

Because Sarah Palin is not in the contest and Gary Johnson has not gained traction. Herman Cain has expressed support for federalism (the 10th Amendment) and the market economy. Perry's wrong on immigration and weak on federalism. Romney's wrong on the role of government (consider Romneycare), and weak on federalism. Ron Paul has hypnotized himself into a reflexive "no State role" that will not work in foreign policy and which he over-generalizes in domestic policy (e.g., gay marriage). No one agrees with me 100%, so I take the best of the likely options.
MaGZ, this is probably one of the best answers that you are going to get. I don't agree with Malcolm on his assessment of Cain, but I don't support Cain, so what I think about him really has no bearing on your question.
Don't listen to me or anybody else on this board whose politics tend to support the Democrats, because we don't see what the appeal with Cain (or any other Republican in this cycle's batch) either. Listen to folks like Malcolm and and others who tend to lean right.
What I see, though, is that on the surface, he comes across as strong on the economic issues to conservatives in this election, in that he is a successful businessman and a political outsider, so has none of the taint of the current economic mess that those inside the beltway have. However, his flub in how he expressed his opinion on DADT shows his political lack of experience and if he continues with such flubs, he will find himself back in the pack with Perry and Bachmann before too long.
Anyway, Cain can't win. The American people don't elect people with facial hair anymore.
"Non-entity"? No; former Governor, with private sector experience as a successful businessman.I can see where the Palin and Bachman supporters for now are on the Cain bandwagon, but Gary Johnson? He’s a non-entity, a libertarian and not a conservative.
Good. For. You. Your labels matter less than the candidates' policies and experience.I would label him a liberal libertarian compared to Ron Paul a conservative libertarian.

Gawd I hope that bubble bursts. It's very worrisome to think John/Jane Q Public is so ignorant the 'simple' 999 propaganda appeals to them. I've only seen a few people actually challenge Cain's claims about his 999 plan. I did miss last night's debate, but I've seen Cain on the news circuit and the majority of reporters just let him make his false unsupportable declarations without challenge. It's scary.Well, if it cannot really get any kind of decent support in the GOP debates (it got torn apart last night), then it'll fly like a lead balloon in the general election.
Waiting for Cain's bubble to burst...

Herman is on CNN now and wants to include food and clothing in his 9% sales tax. This is truly a southern idea of keeping the poor people "in their place".
It's unfortunate that Americans can't comprehend what a regressive tax is...
In my travels, southern states like to tax the groceries to keep the poor people "in their place".
Malcom X would call Herman a House Negro.
Nonsense. With a 9 percent sales tax, drastically lowered corporate income tax, and no capital gains tax, the savings must be translated to the market place and make food and clothing less, not more expensive. It is unfortunate that Americans cannot comprehend how regressive the current tax system really is, and how progressive is the 999 plan.
I always thought it was the "nein, nein, nein plan", in that you simply say nein! to more taxes.
Oh? What qualifies you as a member of "the scientific community"? Credentials=__X__? Experience =__X__?So you reject what we've (the scientific community)...[
That's a bit dogmatic, doncha think? Seems to me you fabricate an illusory distinction between the abstraction "homosexuality" and "engaging in homosexual behavior"....have learned about homosexuality so far, but you still don't think the government should be involved.
Cain's remark is wrong. Homosexuality isn't a choice. Engaging in homosexual behavior of course is, as all behaviors are 'choices'. If you believe homosexuality is a choice, then you too are wrong.
Puhleese, being gay is not a choice any more than being attracted to a certain partner is all choice. We are attracted to whom we are attracted to, pheromones, hormones, biology, whatever. This nonsense people are gay because they chose that lifestyle is church teaching, not evidence based.Oh? What qualifies you as a member of "the scientific community"? Credentials=__X__? Suppose someone walks into the grocery store with enough money for a gallon of milk or a gallon of orange juice, takes both off the shelf, reads labels, and buys the orange juice. Do you call this a "choice", even though the human populations vary in the frequency of retention into adulthood of genes which promote production of enzymes that help digest milk sugar and milk protein?
