White House Survivor

Apparently Pruitt has gone from being a Trump favorite to being on the verge of being removed from office in less then two weeks.
NOTHING makes you as much as an outcast in the Trump administration as making Trump look bad. Two weeks ago, it looked like he'd be replacing Jefferson (Davis) Sessions about now.

DRAIN THE SWAMP!

Rosentein's name has come up.

Memo shows Mueller explicitly tasked with Manafort-Russia collusion claims
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...senstein-russia-collusion-investigation-scope

The memo, which remains redacted in parts, said that Mueller was empowered to investigate allegations that Manafort “committed a crime or crimes by colluding with Russian government officials” to interfere with the presidential election.

None of the charges Manafort faces alleges coordination with the Kremlin, and Manafort’s attorneys had used that point to argue that Mueller exceeded his authority by accusing him of financial crimes and acting as an unregistered foreign agent on behalf of Ukrainian interests.

But Monday’s filing appears to undercut that argument. In addition to authorizing the Russia collusion investigation of Manafort, Rosenstein also authorized Mueller to investigate any crimes related to payments Manafort received from the Ukrainian government under former president Viktor Yanukovych.

It appears that Rosenstein, by explicitly casting the net so wide, was out to get Manafort, and why would he want to do that if not to get Trump himself through Manafort? It's so Deep State it's positively abyssal.

Rosenstein next.

Or could it be Mike Cohen, the suck-up but dispensable lawyer being thrown to the wolves?

In his first public comments on the allegations, he was asked by reporters on Air Force One if he knew about the payment, and Trump said “No”. When was asked why Cohen made the payment, Trump said: “You’ll have to ask Michael Cohen. Michael is my attorney. You’ll have to ask Michael.”

I was wondering about the same thing.

After all, Trump just threw Michael Cohen (his own lawyer) under the bus at a time when Trump is having a difficult time retaining his own law team in order to deal with the Muller investigation.

I guess Trump really does hate lawyers even when he sorely needs lawyers.

I think even Donnie knows that after the lastest scandals Pruitt would not stand a chance of being approved as AG,so Chief of Staff is a possibility.Thing is, in any other administration Pruitt would have been gone by now.

I think I saw somewhere that he wouldn't have to be approved for AG because he was already approved for EPA and can move to another cabinet-level position without further Senate action. Can anyone verify?

What is Scott Pruitt afraid of?

Environmental Protection Agency chief Scott Pruitt’s concern with his safety came at a steep cost to taxpayers as his swollen security detail blew through overtime budgets and at times diverted officers away from investigating environmental crimes.

Altogether, the agency spent millions of dollars for a 20-member full-time detail that is more than three times the size of his predecessor’s part-time security contingent.

New details in Pruitt’s expansive spending for security and travel emerged from agency sources and documents reviewed by The Associated Press. They come as the embattled EPA leader fends off allegations of profligate spending and ethical missteps that have imperiled his job.

Shortly after arriving in Washington, Pruitt demoted the career staff member heading his security detail and replaced him with EPA Senior Special Agent Pasquale “Nino” Perrotta, a former Secret Service agent who operates a private security company.

An EPA official with direct knowledge of Pruitt’s security spending says Perrotta oversaw a rapid expansion of the EPA chief’s security detail to accommodate guarding him day and night, even on family vacations and when Pruitt was home in Oklahoma. The EPA official spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation.

Should I be afraid of it too?

He's worried about radical treehugging terrorists, of course. Environmentalists = terrorists has been a right wing meme for quite a while now.
I am familiar with examples of animal rights terrorism, but I'm drawing a blank on environmental terrorism. There must be some, since most movements have extremists. Anyone?

I don't count the Unabomber.
