Which non-nuclear nations SHOULD acquire nuclear weapons?

Yeah, well. I'm in favor of homemade ice cream, but I'm opposed to cranking a handle all day to make it. Too bad we can't just buy homemade ice cream at the supermarket.
im not sure i understand your metaphor, but my guess would be you are conflating nonproliferation and disarmament

The problem is that recent US foreign policy has demonstrated to the world that if you don't have nukes, or give up your nukes, the US will have no qualms about invading you or otherwise engaging in military action against you if the government can find what passes for a reasonable justification for it.
On the other hand, if you have nukes, you can do pretty much anything you want and the US will just wring its hands and write a firmly worded letter.

What do you base that on? That US hasn't invaded North Korea since it became nuclear power, despite "mutual dislike"? If so, I have a flying bridge for sale.

and the necessary means would seem to be develop your own nuclear weapons as a deterrent, since thats how it happened the first time around

Is that supposed to be a discouraging example of monkey logic?

Obviously, the goal of actual disarmament and non-proliferation (as opposed to a fanciful version thereof) would be to prevent, by all necessary means, a repeat of "how it happened the first time around".

there is no point in continuing this discussion as you seem to have already determined your logic is superior to my "monkey logic" so ultimately it will come down to me being called a monkey again

and is it working? has iran ceased their nuclear program?

for the record, i am in favor of nonproliferation, but the nuclear genie is out of the bottle and the bottle has been smashed to a million pieces, absent the development of an even greater weapon of mass destruction i dont see total disarmament coming any time soon

It is meaningless to give lip service to being in favor of homemade ice cream if you are simultaneously unwilling to crank the handle, or don't believe the handle can be cranked, or should be cranked.

passing economic sanctions against the handle for not cranking itself is no way to get homemade ice cream

just stop playing silly games, admit that you are against actual non-proliferation, and this conversation can end peacefully.

Sealand needs nuclear weapons to survive. If it doesn't acquire nuclear weapons, a giant squid could wipe it out.

Giant squids are being marginalized by Sealand's aggressive expansion and harvesting of aquatic life. I say the nomadic Giant Squids should obtain nuclear weapons ASAP.

and here's my first Mexican/nukes joke

How many nukes can Mexico have?
As many as you can fit in a pick-up truck!
