I watch one or two of the 3 major network evening news shows (No cable or satellite here, so that's not an option) but none are "favorites". They're all rather lame in one way or another. PBS News Hour is generally OK although I don't watch that often.

Pity you didn't include "The National" on CBC. It's pretty good, and a nice alternative for those of us who live near Canada.

Of those choices, PBS wins hands down. They make an effort to provide context. Piggy was definitely right to plug Frontline.

If I could choose any show? The Daily Show. :D

But Peter Mansbrigde is no Bernard Derome... I'm so glad he came out of retirement, Gilles Gougeon sucked.

Network news is an abomination. Honestly, I get a hundred times better news coverage from the newspaper and news feed web sites I frequent, and better analysis from the opinion sites I visit and from this forum. Yes, this forum. I'm serious.

Scarily enough, 1 agree completely.

I don't have a TV. I listen to NPR, plus right wing BS, plus the Ron Reagan, Jr. show, because he has "daddy-issues."
:p

At my girlfriend's, I flip the news channels and it all seems to be sensationalized with quick edits and sound effects, and complicated stage sets, and split screens with four "experts" arguing at the same time. I guess because the TV news is competing with these forums, and blogs and radio, it is all sensationalized. If it is Anna Nicole, or Cho, or Iraq, it's all about sound effects, overpaid anchorwomen with painted faces, and angry white guys with suits.

Pah.....utter tosh...There can be only one......................................................... Sesame Street of course

The "NEWS FLASH" . ............with Kermit the Frog!

Duh! Of Course....
