The September 11 attacks were very traumatic for Bruder, as his eldest daughter was working near the World Trade Center and the event drove Bruder to "make a real impact" in something other than real estate.[7] This compelled him to investigate the circumstances and issues that led to the attacks and explore how to rectify them. He discovered the Middle East has a large youth bulge and the highest youth unemployment in the world. He believes that stable societies can only be built if youth have economic opportunity and jobs. After hiring the Brookings Institution to research methods of ameliorating the situation, along with traveling for several months in Middle Eastern countries, Bruder decided to create the Education for Employment Foundation.[8] His stated reason for doing so was,[9]

I was very lucky in my life. Kids I meet in the Middle East have the same intellect and drive as I had, but don't have the same opportunities...We can make a radical difference to their lives. Once they have a job, they feel part of society. They can become a breadwinner and maybe support eight or nine people, including their siblings.

The creation of the foundation cost $10 million, which Bruder paid for himself out of his savings. The base for the foundation was formed in Washington D.C. in 2002, from which he spread to other offices in the Middle East. In order to expand within each of the countries he opened an office in, Bruder partnered with "local companies that provide funding and agree to hire a set number of graduates from his training programs". This led to the first Middle Eastern office opening in Jordan in 2005 and in the Gaza Strip in 2006.[3][7]

There was a very large number of Hollywood personalities are worked up about how the Bush Administration was involved in the 9/11 attacks or whatever. almost all of them are Democrats and since Obama got elected, only the insane still shoot their mouths off. Why Charlie doesn't had out the money, who knows? In fact he might be. Luke Rudkowski has been ousted from We Are Change because he was stealing money. WAC is an incorporated for-profit entity. Perhaps Charlie gave money to Luke and he stole it, too.

Yesterday I heard a talk by Ron Bruder and had the good fortune to meet him afterwards. Despite his successes so far, he has no illusions about the task ahead. He wants to expand into Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, but will only do so when these countries start to value what he does and (in particular) allow women to at least participate. Libya is his next target.

As to the OP, Bruder has proven that change is possible from the bottom up. If some of these truther idiots opened their wallets, they would see the "truth" in this.
 
I don't begrudge Gruder's desire to do good, but I do wish that people would drop the "lack of opportunity causes terrorism" meme. Osama Bin Laden was the son of one of the wealthiest men in Saudi Arabia. Ayman al-Zawahiri was a surgeon. Mohamed Atta was the son of a lawyer and had graduated college with a degree in architecture and was pursuing a graduate degree in urban planning. Ziad Jarrah grew up in a wealthy family.

If anything, terrorism seems more like a pastime of rich young people who find a cause; check out the family backgrounds of the Weather Underground group for more confirmation.

I disagree. Sure, a few of the 9/11 hijackers were educated and privileged, but most weren't.

Terrorism is sponsored by the rich in the Middle East, but I've been to Kashmir, and met "freedom fighters" who had no money and no jobs, but were paid to train in Pakistan and given AK-47s.

If they'd had education and employment opportunities, most terrorists might not have become terrorists. Terrorism is (or hopefully was) the only opportunity they got.

The "muscle" in the passenger cabins weren't what I would consider to be well educated men. The guys who trained as pilots were. You can't learn to fly without a good grasp of reading, writing, math and good learning skills or habits.
 
The other point, of course, is how can you build a stable, civilized, moderate and advanced society with 40% youth unemployment, which is the standard in Palestine and other middle eastern countries? Bruder is trying to educate the young, and those who complete his programs have 90% employability.

For those of you who say "there aren't that many paying jobs there", look up what happens in the Philippines. This nation exports trained workers around the world, and remittances back home is their biggest earner. The Middle East can, for example, provide nurses to the world.

Economic development and education and training is the only hope for this part of the world.

Truthers don't even admit terrorism exists, or at least I don't recall ever coming across one that does admit it. Truthers are a dead weight on the world's problems - they only add to them.

How much money does Ed Asner have these days? That's another celebrity truther doing nothing but give sound bites. Surely these rich and famous truthers can band together to finance their precious "new independent investigaton". All talk and no action.

It has to be a hands on assignment. Otherwise as now happens, the money is squandered on corruption or armaments.
Classrooms have to be set up and run by the philanthropists.
 
This thread title goes to my complaint about AE911T, Lf911T and PfT who cannot seem to raise enough money to do a report comparable to that of the NIST reports and instead sit back and snipe.

How about an independant FEA of the WTC towers or #7, researched to come up with justifications for input parameters and run on the same LSDYNA software that NIST used?
Sure Sheen and O'Donnel can help out with the funds?
