When will truthers actually do something?

I can't see how the (bold) is doable. If you read the whole campaign, it seems they want to do an end run around the court system. They have managed to raise a few bucks.

Fair weather Patriot?

After 9/11, I tried to re-enlist, denied (prior service disability, hearing) and ended up signing with DynCorp as a contractor, Afghanistan 03, Iraq 03-04.

That's the difference between doing what you believe in and running your mouth on the internet.

The mere fact that Poe's Law even exists, I think, is a clue as to just how absurd and crazy Truthers are considered by the general public. The fact that a parody of Trutherism is so often indistinguishable from real Trutherism shows that even when we stretch our brains to the point of "so-absurd-it-couldn't-possibly-be-serious", we still can't surpass the craziness of things that real, genuine Truthers have honestly said and done.

The very existence of Poe's Law is evidence that these people are seen as an extremist fringe group by general public intuition.

I am not an American, so I don't particularly care that much. Arguably if you were an American then unless you had some kind of bizarre death wish you should care very much - but given Americans are utterly hopeless I don't realistically hold out much hope in that regard.

I had some rather deep and lengthy conversations on this matter with some "debunker"-types in another place. Their line of argument went roughly like this: although it is normal for a teenager or child to feel sympathy when a wolf or such attacks a deer - it is in fact that natural order of things. So that the adult, the true adult, accepts that it is right and proper for the strong to prey on and eliminate the weak. The clever will survive (and become cleverer), the stupid go to the wall, hence the genetic stock is improved. Not only is this to be welcomed, it is positively wrong to interfere with it.

Initially I was not impressed by this line of reasoning, but after giving it long and careful consideration I think they may have it right. There is an element of natural selection going on here - and it would be incorrect of me to try and interfere (leaving aside the almost certain futility of such an attempt).

In this regard one might like to consider the career of one Peregrinus Proteus:

I wouldn't worry too much about him. I sense he may have accepted the reality that no one is going to give him 12 million Euros for his "evidence". I would assume his decision to "not interfere" is some sort of face saving measure.
