When Romney gets the nomination who should he pick as his VP?

Gov. Rick Perry of Texas would be a logical choice if he can keep the state in the Union long enough to win its 34 electoral votes.

Did you really mention "Rick Perry" and "logical choice" in the same sentence?

Yeah, I think putting The Hair on the ticket may be the only way for the Republicans to lose the state. OK, there is no real way for the GOP to lose the state, but having Perry certainly wouldn't help them.

If you're garnering votes with your pick, go for some that you won't otherwise get.

While I do think, based on his politics, Romney would be an excellent choice for the GOP. However, I don't think that the GOP is any more enlightened than it was 4 years ago, and Romney's being a Mormon will still prevent him from getting the nomination.

Yeah, like nominating some honest Illinois Republican.

Oh.

Never mind.

That's OK, honesty is apparantly not considered a desired characteristic of politicians (of any party) in Illinois, if history teaches us anything.

I stand by the original.

While politicians as a group may be somewhat truth impaired, there are variants and some applroach a reasonable level of honesty.

However, when a state has had 4 of thier last 8 governors in jail or indicted, it seems to me that the voters of that state do not even want honesty from thier elected officials.
