What's wrong with Derrick Bell?

I think Virus needs to cite some evidence from Bell's own work.

We still haven't seen anything so far; only a few write-ups by desperate hacks who are making themselves look even more foolish then ever.

The internet has really changed the game. I remember watching the 2000 election fiasco on TV and getting the breaking SCOTUS news on Geraldo's show. Now I don't even watch TV news at all. I read all my news and scan blogs and Twitter, and smears get "vetted", to use the term more accurately than the Breitpods would, almost immediately. Stupid smears like this don't stand a chance.

In 2000, the right could lie about Al Gore claiming he invented the internet. It's ironic that their latest smears are being thwarted by Gore's invention.

So let me see if I get this right. The "problem" will Bell is that:

1) He wrote a book that had a scenario where whites sold blacks to undetermined future, in exchange for great gain for themselves. Apparently, this is a bad thing to write because there is no instance in the history where whites in a society did something very bad to an entire minority block in their society?

2) He sees racism...everywhere. Assuming this is the case, it makes him no worse than germaphobes. And while we may think they are delusional at best, at worst they just need proper care. Not exactly an indication of a bad person.

What I'm detecting from those who seem to think Bell as a "dangerous" person is that they can't imagine that a society could be very racist when vast majority of individuals in the society are not either not at all racist, or where some may be simply borderline racist because the institutional racism in the society had gotten to them.
 
I think the bigger problem is that some have this vision of black academics as inherently radical.
