I think he's a poor salesman if this is how he sells. But the truth is this is not how he sells. Keith Olbermann lives in Trump Tower and will tell you that Trump has been gracious even charming in their interactions.

There's a difference between salesmanship and marketing. Trump is selling the image of himself as a take no prisoners, no bs guy who gets it done..just trust him. He's afraid that equivocating even in the slightest will detract from that image.

(Just a theory)

Or he really is nuts.

You never know. Perhaps he'll announce that America doesn't deserve him, and he's dropping out, and if anybody truly wants to see great leadership they should watch his new reality show Celebrity Businesslords next year.

No Republican senate candidate is running treating crime as an issue. They've moved into their own alternate reality with this plan. It's why so many of the speakers are talking about how "many Americans" are feeling because they need perception to not match reality with violent crime at record lows.

ETA: This is a basic marketing problem. Fulfilling an existing demand is much easier than creating a demand and then fulfilling it.

To suggest that the Clinton email probe somehow invalidates the Annual FBI Uniform Crime Reports, is absolutely ridiculous.

That Manafort fellow is either really stupid, or really dishonest.

Probably both.

It'll be interesting to see if he sticks to the Teleprompter or runs off script. The latter would be more fun, of course.
 
Reince Priebus just said "Republicans think America is the greatest nation on earth". Some body needs to tell Trump about that, since "Make America great again" explicitly means it's not.

I'd like a European poster to chime in but it seems to me that the GOP has transformed into something resembling the far right wing parties that exist over there. They're populist on trade and the economy to the point of being farcical and advocating cultural xenophobia.

That's the only reason it makes sense to have Peter Thiel there. Unless he's going to offer to fund every baseless lawsuit against news organizations Donald doesn't like. He really hates the press and free speech.
